Robot Works - Wintermute

Advantages: Fun film with a strong voice cast and good animation
Disadvantages: In the face of stronge competition, it doesn't quite match up

...parts from his very popular female cousin. Rodney learns his work ethic from his parents as well as his ability to dream. Rodney is also inspired by Bigweld, an inventor from the big city who features on a television show. The film really gets going when Rodney heads to the big city, inventions in hand, to find Bigweld. Rodney quickly realises that all is not well at Bigweld Industries. He meets an eclectic bunch of robots who show him how to survive metropolitan life. Rodney's skills are soon necessary as the evil robot, Ratchet, who is now running Bigweld threatens the survival of his new friends and potentially that of his aging parents. SO SHOULD I SEE IT? "Robots" is a great little film. I cannot honestly rate it as highly as some of my animated favourites such as Shrek, Ice Age, Kung Fu Panda or really any of the Pixars... Read review

Advantages: DOES THE CLEANING WHILE I DO THE SHOPPING

...When my sister told me what the iRobot Roonba 560 does I could not believe it but she was so convincing on the performance of the vacuum cleaner that I had to have it. I have had it for several months now and not only I don't regret to have bought it but it is so amazing that I have to write about it. The Roomba robot 560 is round, 33 cm. diameter x 8 cm. high, it certainly goes under everything. There is a small docking station where the robot recharges the battery and stays until the button to start is pushed or the time and day has been programmed; in fact it is possible and very easy to programme it for different times and days of the week. Once the robot has been programmed, at the assigned day and time after a funny short " tune " Roomba leaves the docking station and starts sweeping the floor; laminate, carpet or tiles, it does... Set in the year 2035 in Chicago with humanoid robots walking the streets as servants to humans. We are quickly introduced to detective Del Spooner, (played by Will Smith) and soon realise that he has a total distrust for the robots, (later in the movie we find out the reason for the mistrust). The film essentially starts with the death of a top scientist, presumably suicide, although Del thinks otherwise.
