Advantages: Great food and atmosphere. Disadvantages: Parking for cars and possibly have to queue to get in.
Location and History.
The HardRock Cafe in London is situated at Hyde Park Corner. It was formerly a Rolls Royce dealership. 150 Old Park Lane to be precise.
This is the original HardRock Cafe, there are now hardrocks all over the world. I have been in this one and also the one in Dublin. 138 in total. They now also have a hotel chain too.
The are all basically the same with artefacts of rock stars past and present adorning the walls and floors.
The centre piece of the London one is a Harley Davidson motorcycle downstairs behind the bar.
I always go to the downstairs bar as im a life memberof HOG (Harley Owners Group) this gives you a kind of VIP status as you never normally have to queue to get in.
The owner normally has his Harley parked outside by the entrance adorned in HardRock paintwork.
Recently the cafe has ...
Advantages: Pretty much averything about the place! Disadvantages: None!
covered in some really cool rock memorabilia - each cafe has a massive range of things which must be worth a small fortune!
We were presented with the menus, and decided to indulge ourselves with cocktails. Now these aren't cheap at around £6 for the very cheapest. However, they are well worth it - they are at least double the size of a regular cocktail and I felt tipsy after one they are so strong! I chose strawberry diaquiri, while my boyfriend had electric ice tea. Both were delicious, and we ended up sharing! One thing hardrock cafes do is a range of cocktails in souvenir glasses, which are quite cool but rather expensive at about £10-12.
Onto the food - I'm always torn when it comes to this as there is so much I want to try! On my last visit my boyfriend and I both went for the classic HardRock Cafe cheeseburger and chips ...
Advantages: Honest and open account of Fern's life so far Disadvantages: None
fun in places as she talks about some of the guests they have on the show and ho she intends on getting what she can out of the interviews. I found that they were a nice addition to the book and broke up the history of her life a bit.
There are 3 sections of photographs in the book which show some lovely photos of Fern and her family throughout her life which add to the book as you are able to picture her when she is telling you about what she has done and about her family.
I paid £10 for my hard back edition from Tesco which I feel is a good bargain as it is priced around the £20 price in other shops. The book was published by Penguin Books and has 360 pages.
I do recommend this book to all who like Fern Britton as she gives a very good and open account of her life so far, not just the good but also the bad times. ...
