Advantages: Tremendous group of songs of varying styles. Disadvantages: None
...63 minute celebration of The Beatles best tracks during the 1962-1966 period. The production by George Martin of these tracks only enhanced what was already a group destined for greatness. The album starts with the happy love pop song innocence of that era with tracks such as "Love Me Do", "Please Please Me", "From Me To You", "She Loves You", and "I Want To Hold Your Hand" Then we move on to "All My Loving" which starts to show a more complex musical ... ...Out" start to show The Beatles move towards more angst ridden love songs. "Nowhere Man" in my opinion is one of the best tracks on this album and has a similar style to it of much of John Lennon's later solo work. "Michelle" is a true work of beauty. It has periodic French lyrics in it and is a Beatles take on folk music only 5 times better than most other folk music you'll ever hear. It is poetic and sounds like a tune that must have been around ...
Advantages: classic hits by one of the greatest bands of all time Disadvantages: none for me
...it justice. Nobody covering The Beatles could never match the original. -Summary-
When people think of The Beatles, they think Help! or Yellow Submarine. But, there is so much more to the four lads from Liverpool. This album proves it. Someone who is my age and hasn't really heard much of The Beatles, would only know a few of the tracks off the double album. I totally recommend it to anyone who think The Beatles were overrated. ...
Advantages: Some brilliant songs Disadvantages: None
...He formed the overly democratic Wings with the limited musical talents of his wife Linda on keyboards, but struggled to get any other lieutenants who could step into the limelight with him. Denny Laine, formerly of the Moody Blues and Go Now, was an early recruit, but no one else looked likely to stay the course, and Macca even agreed to use the term Paul McCartney And… to let you know exactly who we were dealing about, as if you didn’t know. It ... ...helped out on the promising Wings At The Speed Of Sound album.
A couple of years later, McCartney was comfortable enough with this new band and the catalogue of material that his Wings project had built up to generate a lovely triple live album, Wings Over America, which could happily double up as a Greatest Hits collection, for it roamed happily through all the stuff which had been churned out since the disintegration of the Beatles. For a Wings ...
Advantages: Fantastic quality music, good range of the artists musical talent, THE BEST ALBUM COVER OF ALL TIME! Disadvantages: It isn't available on Hybrid SACD format as per Pink Floyd DSOTM, no CD TEXT on std release, otherwise none!
I first heard "Sheer Heart Attack" back in 1977, before I was starting to get into Queen big time. My then best friend had bought it the day before and popped it round. I only had an hour to check it out and...totally dismissed it! The only memorable thing for me at the time was the intro to "Brighton Rock" which sounded like a fairground.
An that's the way it stayed for another six months..
Now the story continues when I saw it available at my ... ...that very day. So I borrowed it, took it home listened to it again, then again, and again. How stupid I felt. I was blown away-there was no going back. since then I've owned it on Vinyl, Japanese Viynl and then as a Japanese CD as a replica of the Vinyl release c/w lyrics and Japanese text. Now released again in Japan as part of a general re-release of all the Queen albums featuring ART (Abbey Road Technology) as another remastering exercise. From ...
Advantages: 8 Great different sounding tracks Disadvantages: Always leaves you wanting more & then you have to wait for her next masterpiece album.
...her earlier stuff on The Fame album. It reminds me of a summer track, listening to it whilst just chilling on the beach. It's not as catchy as the other songs but it does bring something different to this album.
8) Teeth - To be honest when i first listened to this song i thought 'What the Hell is she doing?!?' Its hard to describe this song. It reminds me of a song that would be performed in a cabaret bar and it really is an old-fashioned number. ... ...Dangerous album. He uses old school beats and strange sounding vocals to create a unique song for Lady GaGa. After a few listens to this song i found myself clicking my fingers and tapping my feet to the beat. I'm looking forward to seeing her perform this live when i go see her in concert in 2010.
The album booklet is a simple black 14 page booklet which includes the lyrics to all the songs. There is also 3 pictures of Lady Gaga in her typical ...
