I got Evil Blood and a Twisted Mind

Advantages: Great Punk Rock and Roll
Disadvantages: Uped the stakes considerably

...the line " I got Evil blood, and a twisted mind" has gotta be good. This one definitley proves the rule. This was their 1st release after leaving Sub Pop and what a record it was. Effectivley recorded live in the studio, and as a result ther is an urgency to the songs that you loose whith multitracking. Each song is dripping in rock and roll attitude and their influences are obvious from the Ramones to Thin Lizzy stopping off in the Arizona desert ...
...is stunning in it's simplicity and they stick very closley to the how to do a great rock and roll record formula. Which is pounding drums, simple but effective bass playing and two guitars all being played as if the lives of the players depended upon it, on top of this raw vocals and lyrics sung from experience. The album is effectivley a concept album, but not in an elves, wizzards and fairies sense that was so prevelant from 70's progressive rock. ...

Sludgy fuzzed out distorted riffage at its finest

Advantages: Great intelligent heavy grungy hardcore, that makes you want to explore more of their music
Disadvantages: Some of the songs may be an aqqired taste; but then again i see that as a good thing. Most other Hard music will seem simple afterwards

Pear Jam - Live at the Gorge - Doing what Eddie and Co do best.

Advantages: All your favorite Pearl Jam tracks performed live.
Disadvantages: Some repetition.

...anyone who likes recordings of live rock and whilst it obviously helps if you like Pearl Jam that wouldn't be essential. ...check this out! The arrangements of the other instruments like saxophone sitar, guitar and drums, etc sit really well together without drowning anything out. The songs themselves are really catchy and you'll find yourself singing along too by the end of it.
