Advantages: The first disc of a Live Pitchshifter concert is something to behold Disadvantages: The second disc of Remixes becomes tiring to listen to after time
This was to be Pitchshifter's farewell CD to all of its fans old and new, a 2xCD collection of Live and Remixed Pitchshifter tracks representing the more upbeat music from '.com', 'Deviant' and 'PSI'.
I'll start with the Live CD. Early music from the Pitchshifter vaults is briefly attacked with the album opener 'Triad' from the album 'Desensitized'. This is a much darker and heavier track than most of the later tunes from the '.com' CD forwards. ... ...Industrial roots and a good insight for new fans as to the music produced on their less accessible early albums.
The sound quality remains fully loaded right through the performance, of particular note is Jason Bowld's drumkit sounding louder than ever, every bass kick smashing a picture frame. The twin guitars of Jim Davies and Dan Raynor sound heavier, and Mark's bass more punchy and fuller than ever. From the old skool opener of 'Triad' Pitchshifter ...

...This is a greatest hits album from a band who I have up there as one of the master bands of Rock and Roll music. I am sure some of this bands songs have appeared on movies as soundtracks. In addition the main reason I bought this album is because they included the song you better you bet as track number 16 as well as the classic song 'who are you'.
Largely because of these two classic tracks I bought the album as I wanted to listen to other tracks ... ...songs all of which were greatest hits by the Who. I will try to describe and detail as best as I can on a track by track basis.
-------------------------------
Track 1: I can't explain: This perhaps is an interesting song, as it starts off in a punchy and forceful way on the guitar as well as having nice to hear lyrics. The song provided me with a pleasant mood to hear other songs on the list. Overall I find this a really great track that really ...
Of Whales and Woe is Les Claypool's first proper solo album. His name may not be familiar to all as he is better known as Primus' frontman bassist extraordinaire. This album was released back in 2006 on his own record label Prawn Song. (It was recently re-released on vinyl as of November 2009.) Not so much of the wacky lyrics on this album but a far more accessable feel than his previous works. Nearly every track featured here is bass-driven in his ... ...check this out! The arrangements of the other instruments like saxophone sitar, guitar and drums, etc sit really well together without drowning anything out. The songs themselves are really catchy and you'll find yourself singing along too by the end of it. There is even one track on here, Iowan Girl, written specially for his wife with some of the most amazing bass playing I have ever heard. There isn't a bad track on here in my opinion. TRACK LISTING: ...
Advantages: A great number of songs are good. Highly original. Disadvantages: No all the songs are that great.
Radiohead does it again. Highly original record. Most songs last forever. The in and out bass line of "Airbag" is brilliant. I also like the way this song slowly unfolds, specially the brilliant guitar. You might be surprised to hear that I don´t care too much for "Paranoid Android" one of their most famous singles. I thought "Subterranean Homesick Alien" was great too. "Let Down" is also a super song that must be in your collection. "Karma Police" ...
Advantages: A few super songs. Disadvantages: Some songs are not that good musically speaking.
I have always admired and been a fan of Sarah McLachlan´s music. Certain songs I find better than others. My favorite song in this record is "Fallen". It is a musically breath taking and perfect song in my opinion. It is one of those songs that lasts forever. I never get tired of listening to it. I also liked "Drifting", "Answer" and "Time". I didn´t care too much for the rest. She has great songs, the only problem with the album is that it is one ...
