Diamond Dogs brought to close the glam era for Bowie after this album there was nothing more to say that wouldn’t sound like self-parody or just asinine repetition.

The albums tone is set by the minute and seven second long spoken narrative called “Future Legend” which sounds particularly Burroughsian which reads like an off-cut from the Burroughs book “Naked Lunch” with a ... ...now, the year of the Diamond Dogs.
Bowie shouts “This ain’t Rock n’ Roll this is Genocide”.
Diamond Dogs (5.56) the title track plods along in a Stones-like manner and is the albums most unimaginative song, the album has for the first time and only time I can think of where Bowie plays most of the lead guitar.
His garage style of guitar playing is off-set by his soulfully played layered horn section and frantic keyboard ...
Advantages: An amazing album full of quirky ideas and lots of neat sounds Disadvantages: It is a little dated in places but this isn't too deterring
...my parents certainly bill ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars’ as Bowie at his most creative and I have to agree with them. Although this album has wavered from its concept a lot less than the Beatles did in 1967, it would be unfair to justify Bowie’s efforts as anything short of daring. Drummer Bunker left the group after “Aqualung” was released. However their first foray “Sunshine Day” into the international scene was massive fiasco. But in 1971 Jethro Tull’s best ever work “Aqualung” was released but Ian Andersson’s lyrics became quite controversial because of his unadulterated statement on religion and society. But they undoubtedly cut out their niché with the magical flute of Ian Anderson and nervous but ...
