This is the latest release from a 3 piece band, which over the years (since 1994 with the release of 'Pokinatcha'), have become a quite a lot more popular. It's easy to see why because their music is now seen as a lot more catchy (not really a god thing) to most people.
fans of Blink 182 can not fail to notice the talent of the MXPX 3, Mike Herrera - Bass + vocals, Yuri Ruley - Drums, and Tom Wisniewski - guitar and backing vocals. For anyoune expecting ... ...They sing about life and love, which is often only good if you can relate to it.
When I first heard it, I thought it sounded a bit like the Steriophonics , thank God though, it soon changed.
The one thing that I don't like about this CD is the fact that most of the songs sound a lot alike. Mikes voice is very loud compared to the instruments, so it's often hard to distinguish between tracks. Even Foo Fighters frontman - Dave Grohl, hepls out on ...
...I shall be looking at King Of Fools which is an album by Delirious. This particular group is a band whose members are all Christians, but whose lyrics are not always seen as being Christian based. What this means is that when compared with a lot of popular music today, although Delirious are a Chhristian group when compared to many other bands they could all be on a similar level in terms of what their lyrics are all trying to say. Of Whales and Woe is Les Claypool's first proper solo album. His name may not be familiar to all as he is better known as Primus' frontman bassist extraordinaire. This album was released back in 2006 on his own record label Prawn Song. (It was recently re-released on vinyl as of November 2009.) Not so much of the wacky lyrics on this album but a far more accessable feel than his previous works. Nearly every track featured here is bass-driven in his ... ...check this out! The arrangements of the other instruments like saxophone sitar, guitar and drums, etc sit really well together without drowning anything out. The songs themselves are really catchy and you'll find yourself singing along too by the end of it. There is even one track on here, Iowan Girl, written specially for his wife with some of the most amazing bass playing I have ever heard. There isn't a bad track on here in my opinion. Radiohead does it again. Highly original record. Most songs last forever. The in and out bass line of "Airbag" is brilliant. I also like the way this song slowly unfolds, specially the brilliant guitar. You might be surprised to hear that I don´t care too much for "Paranoid Android" one of their most famous singles. I thought "Subterranean Homesick Alien" was great too. "Let Down" is also a super song that must be in your collection. "Karma Police" ...
