Heathen Chemistry - Up To Scratch?
Advantages: Consistently good songs, with a few great ones Disadvantages: Some poor decisions, especially the hidden song
...off as a poor effort. Heathen Chemistry, having been released in 2005, falls perfectly into this category. Upon first release, it didn't measure up to Definitely Maybe or (What's The Story) Morning Glory?, and was, in a way, regarded as a failure because of it. Is this fair, though? Do people only see it as a weak album because they're comparing it to masterpieces? Personally, I feel if the majority of current bands had released something this good, ... ...isn't quite perfect, but it certainly deserves a chance. The Hindu Times - A classic Oasis opener, and one of the albums strongest tracks. Great, snarling vocals and energetic guitars. A top quality track. 10/10 Force Of Nature - A powerful, angst-ridden song, with a real punk feel to it. Sung brilliantly by Noel, it has an extremely memorable, strong riff. Perhaps not what Oasis are best known for, but an amazing track. Criminally underrated by ...

Giants get shorter everday.
Advantages: Nice vocals, interesting turn for Oasis Disadvantages: Lyrics, couple of duffers.
In 'Fucking In The Bushes' a sample garnished, stone fisted instrumental Oasis open the album with the different sound critics have been nagging at after 1997's Be Here Now treaded familiar ground for a carpet-thinning 70 minutes. A stomping beat, snarling riffs and a chorus of spiraling guitar licks over a spoken 'Children running around naked fucking the bushes' sample lifted from some dusty old film mark this as one off Oasis' most original ... ...brings an immediate return to the Gallagher's Beatle emulating ways. However this a pretty good shot at it; a head-nodding groove in the baseline rescues the predictable chord progressions. Liam's vocals on this track are amazing, not because of any technical elegance but because they grind over this track like an overdriven guitar, giving the song a power that a Liam-less band could not achieve.
'Who Feels Love?' is a disappointing entry, an ...

Helps with the Writer's Block
Advantages: Easy to listen to, excellent lyrics, good musical accompaniment, great album to work to Disadvantages: None really, apart from the fact that there were only 12 tracks
"The Invisible Band" never fails to impress me each time I put it in to play. With every listen, I discover something new about the amazingly deep lyrics of Travis, and I'm left in wonder at the abundantly vivid images portrayed. The music will leave you asking for more, but the 12 tracks present on this album sufficiently whet your appetite. Travis truly are in sparkling form with this release.
This is a very good album to just chill out to after ... ...such a tracklist. On "The Invisible Band", Travis offer a good collection of songs that will appeal to you in different ways, and you'll perceive each one in a new light depending on your mood and when you listen to it.
Instantly Likeable: Sing, Side, Flowers in the Window
Watch Out For: Last Train, Indefinitely, The Humpty Dumpty Love Song
Sing: A great way to kick off the album. This is an instantly recognisable song on the radio. With its simple ...

Pulp were a band that spanned 20 years. 10 of those years were wasted on failure. Despit the albums being brilliant.

Chillin'
Advantages: Beautiful vocals, swooping melodies. Disadvantages: Can be so laid back, theyr'e horizontal
Gomez formed in October 1996. The band consists of Ian, Ollie, Tom, Blackie, Ben and Dajon.
Ian and Ollie already knew each other when they met Tom and Blackie at college. Ian then met Ben at Sheffield University and after then realising that they would need somebody for percussion, they hired the talents of an old friend, Dajon.
The name “Gomez” came about when they were playing a gig as an un-named band. They made a sign for a friend ... ...album itself…
Gomez – In our gun.
Shot Shot.
Starts fairly slowly, then immediately jumps into a quirky guitar riff, followed by vocals and a drumbeat featuring wind instruments that quickly identifies itself as the chorus. This song fairly flows along at quite a rapid pace, but ends quickly. The single from this album, it really shoots you off at pace for the deliverance of the rest of the album.
Rex Kramer.
The distinctive vocals ...
