Best band on this earth
Advantages: Excellent band , will never get tired of Disadvantages: none
...time went on.
The album Pure Cult ( For Rockers, Ravers, Lovers and Sinners) is an excellent album.
It is a compilation of their greatest hits. They are a very serious looking lot who consist of band members, Ian Astbury Vocalist.Billy Duffy , Serious Guitarist, Jamie Stewart, Bass & Guitarist, Additional artists on this album consist of Nigel Preston, Raymond Taylor Smith Drums.
The tracks are 1 She sells sanctuary ( my favourite song.)
2 Fire ... ...rocky number) 4 Spiritwalker ( excellent song, older than the above numbers, rather gothic.
5 The Witch ( sound distorted ) like one of Mel Cs
6 Revolution ( slowish song , excellent though, brings Ians unusual voice out.
7 Wild hearted Son ( Rocky song, very guitary
8 Love removal machine ( Opening reminds me of AC/DC
9 Rain (here comes the rain) Good song for this country
10 Edie (Cia baby) hey how appropiate.Nice ballad
11 Heart of Soul ...

Who's Queen ?
Advantages: Some good tracks Disadvantages: Some fillers too
Trawling back through the depths of time I can just about remember buying this cd on the day it was released in 1989. I was (and still am) a big fan of Queen and I've recently been revisiting a few of the Queen cd's I own, by playing them in the car. So after two or three days extensive listening here's my thoughts...
QUEEN THEMSELVES
Much has already been written about John Deacon (bass), Brian May (Guitars / vocals), Freddie Mercury (vocals / ... ...go overboard here. Formed during the early 1970's it was their 1975 hit Bohemian Rhapsody which catapulted them to the public's attention. Spurred on by the eclectic mix of opera, rock and some of Freddie's outrageous stage costumes, the band grew from strength to strength with their live concerts becoming almost instant sell-outs.
Failed attempts to crack the American market during the late 70's and early 80's centred around the critically un-acclaimed ...

Raging Silence
Advantages: Good vocalist Disadvantages: A lot of
This album is miles beyond Equator in every possible way. Bernie Shaw proves himself to be Heep's most capable vocalist since John Lawton (they'd been thru John Sloman, Pete Goalby and Steff Fontaine). Mick in particular stands out with his distinctive guitar sound and the production is a vast improvement as Richard Dodd gives the band a big, meaty sound. The biggest improvement, however, is in the lyric writing. Although several of the songs are ...

Made In Heaven
Advantages: A moving, emotional and magnificent finale. Disadvantages: It's the last ever Queen album
Made In Heaven is the final, and some would say finest, 'proper' Queen album ever to be released.
It contains music from 1980 (It's a Beautiful Day) right through to 1991, the year that Freddie Mercury left us. It took four years to complete as Brian, Roger and John fought with their emotions to complete Queen's final album without their 'greatest and most beloved member'.
But despite Freddie's suffering, this is an 'up' album. It starts off with ... ...Game album, and continues with Made in Heaven. This was originally a Freddie solo single but was given a rock make-over. The same applies to I was Born to Love You later in the album.
Let Me Live has definite gospel influences and sees Freddie share the lead vocal with Roger and Brian. This was a Top 10 hit in 1996. Possibly the most emotional song on the album is Mother Love, written by Brian and Freddie, and like The Show Must Go On the lyrics ...

I Know It's Over
Advantages: Great songs and great singing Disadvantages: Still don't dig Eternal Life
...6 concerts in Jeff Buckley's Mystery White Boy tour make up this live album. My ratings are as follows: [*] - Nothing really catches the attention. [**] - Something grabs my attention. [***] - Gets me air-drumming, air-guitaring and singing along to the track. 1. Dream Brother Slow to start, and though in the buildup there is some laidback vocal improvisation, Jeff is having to squeeze hard for some of those falsetto notes. [**] 2. I Woke Up In A ... ...heavy, and the riffs dirty. [***] 3. Mojo Pin Solid but for the final bridge where Jeff slips into sheepish singing - however he does come on strongly for the finale. [**] 4. Lilac Wine As if Buckley has had too much to drink here, what with the guitar losing its way and his vocals being reduced to a croak at the end, though the improvisation in the singing is as strong as it is soulful. [***] 5. What Will You Say Similar to Dream Brother in that ...
