...am concerned, one of the greatest lyricists of his generation and Glenn Tilbrook is able to melodically interpret Difford's words beautifully. The Album The album begins with the bands first hit single from 1978, "Take Me I'm Yours". At the time they were marketed as a post-punk, powerpop set-up, which was misleading given the fact they were musically very gifted. The song is particularly evocative of traveling "the seven seas" as Chris and Glenn ... ...indicative of what the future held for them. The follow up was "Bang Bang", a piece of power pop which wasn't particularly memorable and is only remembered by fans nowadays - indeed Chris and Glenn have distanced themselves from the song. Later on in 1978 however the band released "Goodbye Girl" which was to be the first single from their second album, and this is a firm favourite, despite only reaching number 63 in the charts. Advantages: Punk pop at it's best Disadvantages: Too many poor tracks
...masturbation (pretty start to a greatest hits huh?) Soft punk at it's near best. 9/10
Mony mony, This is slightly more "hooky" and heavier punk than the previous song. Going from slowly solo singing, to a full out vocal arguement with the backing chior. Punk gold, but unfortunately overlooked today due to the "punk" fans siding with bands like "Greenday" and "Blink -182". 10/10

Rebel yell, His most punky ...
