Where to start with this album? Arctic Monkeys absolutely exploded onto the Indie scene with their refreshingly different style. This album made them suppermassive and it is essential for any collection. Even Noel Gallagher admits they have trangressed into part of youth culture! This album combines Alex Turner's ingenious lyrics with some awesome riffs. The song 'Fake Tales of San Francisco' is a good example of this, as it utilises a musically ...
...is their debut single 'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor', a song which has just about made it to cult classic status. This fast paced tune is a firm fans favourite and is what the Monkey's are all about. I would recommend this album to anybody into Indie Rock'n'Roll music, or anyone looking for something that bit different. Oh, and also for anyone that plays guitar, playing along with this album is thoroughly satisfying! ...

Be Your Own Pet

Advantages: Brilliant Album
Disadvantages: Could Leave you with a headache

This album by Be Your Own Pet is a piece of raw, punk rock brilliance. its frantic and angry from start to finish, and full of energy. As always Jemina Pearls vocal performance is dramatic and highly entertaining, along with the heavy riff driven guitars and hectic drums, all this combined makes for an interesting sound. i'd say the song that sticks out for me the most is "Fuuuuun" it just caputures what this band is all about in one little snippet ...

A Happy Funeral

Advantages: Sublime Tracks, Beautiful Arrangement, Intriguing Lyrics, Intriguing Sound, Unique

Frank Turner - Poetry of the Deed

Advantages: A new Frank Turner album
Disadvantages: Perhaps not as strong as previous ones

Anyone who’s a fan of good music, read on… His first two helpings of delicious of folk-cum-indie-acoustic rock music were anthemic and created a large buzz on the ‘scene’. His debut; Sleep is for the Week, combined big sing-a-long choruses and lyrics of everyday life. GUEROLITO O O O O NO.

Advantages: BECK DIVERSIFIED LIKE NEVER BEFORE.
Disadvantages: POTENTIALLY ALIENATES ALL INTERESTED AUDIENCES.

Guero remixed is a great concept. However, when remixed predominantly by people renown in a guitar-based music rebuffing market, head lice-free fans of Beck just might be found scratching their heads in confusion and maybe disillusion. Allowing for the odd and expected touch of quality, shown in the Adrock ( Beastie Boys ) mix of Black Tambourine, hardly surprising as he's no stranger to remixing Beck. And an 8bit mix of Hell Yes, getting your head ...
...window. ( Now, thanks to yours truly uncommonly known as Churchillin'). The rest of it just seems so mismatched and out of place, a mangled wreck of a remix album.
