I was given this album for Christmas about 4 years ago, and at the time I only knew about two songs from guns n roses. But When i first played this album, I realised I knew most of the tracks. Advantages: Brilliant, wonderful rock songs

If you wanted the best... then try this!!

Advantages: Classic rock songs and soulful ballards.
Disadvantages: None that I can think of... really!!

To be honest, I bought this album because I LOVE 'God Gave Rock N Roll'- yes I was a teenage 'Bill and Ted' fan!! lol Being only 22, I hadn't really heard a lot of Kiss music before I bought this a couple of years ago. I listened to the album and experienced suc classics (I now realise they are!!) as 'God Of Thunder', 'Detroit Rock City' and 'I was Made For Loving You'. I was awed by the sheer excellence of Kiss!! They really are a band for the ages- ...
...loved was how Kiss can do a really soulful ballard like 'Beth' and put it on the same album as great, classic rock songs like 'Cold Gin' and 'Hard Luck Woman'. Take a Journey back to the eighties

...Oh, man. Journey's Greatest Hits. Back to the 80's we go. Back to mushy AOR, back to crushing power ballads. Conjures up images of a band wearing leather pants, curly perms and throwing (sorry throwin') shapes on stage, as thousands of people in the crowd do that stupid dancey/shuffle thingy that only Americans know how to do. "Journey, wooo, man they rock!!!" Considering this band, all of the above is true. Most people who've heard of the band ...
...jazz-rock outfit (as did their contemporaries Chicago) before morphing into a 1980's AOR corporate monster (as did their contemporaries Chicago) and having a drippy-looking singer with a high whiny voice (as did....OK you know who). There is one difference though....Journey came from San Francisco and Chicago came from, well, ummm, Chicago. Laugh if you will, but this is just sheer good fun. Take it from me there is nothing better than getting up ...
