Advantages: All the hits, great value Disadvantages: Doesn't include the band's highly regarded 1990s work
...am concerned, one of the greatest lyricists of his generation and Glenn Tilbrook is able to melodically interpret Difford's words beautifully. The Album The album begins with the bands first hit single from 1978, "Take Me I'm Yours". At the time they were marketed as a post-punk, powerpop set-up, which was misleading given the fact they were musically very gifted. The song is particularly evocative of traveling "the seven seas" as Chris and Glenn ... ...indicative of what the future held for them. The follow up was "Bang Bang", a piece of power pop which wasn't particularly memorable and is only remembered by fans nowadays - indeed Chris and Glenn have distanced themselves from the song. Later on in 1978 however the band released "Goodbye Girl" which was to be the first single from their second album, and this is a firm favourite, despite only reaching number 63 in the charts. The song perfectly ...
...was mainly due to personality clashes within the band. In 1991 they made a compilation album "The Bangles Greatest Hits". I purchased this, and it is fantastic, it has all their best songs on it. I would highly recommend it, especially if you are a fan. ...

... ...is represented here on the Greatest Hits package with three entries, ‘Rip Her To Shreds’, ‘X-Offender’ and ‘In The Flesh’. ‘Rip Her To Shreds’ is a wonderfully chaotic, violent tale of jealousy and cruelty complete with all sorts of memories from modern popular culture such as comic books, King Kong and Brenda Starr. An exercise in high trash, it cuts the target of Harry’s venom to pieces simply for the way she looks. However, the drama and nastiness ...
Advantages: Punk pop at it's best Disadvantages: Too many poor tracks
...masturbation (pretty start to a greatest hits huh?) Soft punk at it's near best. 9/10
Mony mony, This is slightly more "hooky" and heavier punk than the previous song. Going from slowly solo singing, to a full out vocal arguement with the backing chior. Punk gold, but unfortunately overlooked today due to the "punk" fans siding with bands like "Greenday" and "Blink -182". 10/10
Hot in the city, Starting with the backing choir/singing, and is the ... ...taste but it's still listenable. It helps to show the divercity of Billy early on in the album. 6/10
White wedding, One of Billy's most famous tracks, and from the moment he hits the first vocal chord in a slightly gruff manner to the point the song ends you never feel he's done anything bad in the song. A peach of a punk dance pop merge, with a really catchy lyrical hook and simple catchy musical accompanyment. 10/10
Rebel yell, His most punky ...
Advantages: My god, its a must buy for any collection Disadvantages: Sometimes a little repetative and misses out a few good tracks.
Well that’s what I thought when I first heard the Eurythmics, hasn't Ann Lennox got an excellent voice.
The Eurythmics really sum up the 80's style and I especially like them because they play some really good music which people still appreciate today.
The eurythmics is unique and this album really sums up some of heir best work. There are a few bad points about the album; one would be that the choice of songs isn't too great I can think of a few ... ...it’s quite short, which is sad because, like I said they did allot of good work.
The album contains the biggest hits but the songs sometimes sound the same and that creates a bland tone after a while.
Apart from those few points, the album is refreshing with some real girl power and can be very motivating.
It’s a must buy and anyone who has never heard the eurythmics should at least buy this album. ...
