Advantages: A great collection featuring many of the bands finest moments Disadvantages: Some of the hits have been needlessly omitted
Forming in Garden Grove, California in 1984; The Offspring are perhaps one of the best known and most well received Pop Punk bands of our time. During the mid 90's, it was bands such as The Offspring, Green Day and Rancid who revived a popular interest in Punk music in the U.S. - an interest which can be seen to have sustained to some extent ever since. Whilst Green Day went on to bigger and better things, having sold over 60 million records worldwide ... ...never enjoyed quite such an overwhelming commercial success (they've still sold over 32 million albums worldwide from the seven they have released however which isn't that bad really). The Offspring have always been a fantastic band, and having hated both Green Day's and Rancid's last albums, The Offspring remain the only band of the aforementioned three to have sustained my interest over the years.
For those looking to listen to the music of The ...
Advantages: All your favourite blink songs bundled into one awesome collection Disadvantages: Not as "special edition" as i would have hoped - lack of poster etc
Blink 182 are a rare beauty - a genre defining band, they epitomise modern punk and everything brilliant about it. Simple, catchy riffs that are easy to create, manic drumming and clever, often disgusting lyrics. It is music that sums up the essence of being a teenage boy and is often a stepping stone to other great punk bands for many generations of kids who rediscover punk over and over again. A literally timeless album, a must have for any Blink ...
Advantages: Brilliant retrospective of the band Disadvantages: People borrow it all the time

I've noticed that there is ... ...Very Best Of The Stranglers' - released Jun 2006). This doesn't quite supercede this one because though it has 20 tracks as oppossed to 15 it is missing '96 Tears'. Also this is the one I own so I can only review this one!
I bought this on cassette back in 1990 on the strength of 'Alway The Sun' a beautiful ode to trying to keep your chin up in a cruel world. I still have the tape as my old Escort only has a tape player, and I generally only listen ...

The sad death of Joey and Dee Dee Ramone prompted me to dig this live Ramones album out, and I am pleased I did. This surely must be one of the best, if not the best live album ever. It consists of no less than twenty eight songs in just under forty five minutes. This album catches The Ramones at their very best, so good it makes you sweat. From 'Rockaway Beach' to 'We're a Happy Family' it is just pure three or four chord, Marshalls stacked, leather ... ...Green Day, Blink 152, U2 amongst many others would not be around today if it was not for these four guys from New Jersey. With songs like 'Havana Affair', 'Cretin Hop', and 'Sheena is a Punk Rocker', these songs of madness, murder and mayhem, are a must not just for Ramones fans but for anyone who likes their music fast and furious. There is barely breathing space between the songs, with Dee Dee's rapid fire '1,2,3,4' introducing nearly every song. ...
