Advantages: Great songs, especially for dancing Disadvantages: Very 80s. Wait, is that a disadvantage?
Vince Clarke was formerly with Depeche Mode, another band that relied heavily on electronic music, synthesizers and enigmatic types of lyrics. Clarke wanted to journey out from Depeche Mode's darker tendency to a much more pop-oriented and dance-oriented sound of his own. He recruited Andy Bell after auditioning many vocalists to front the band Erasure, and after turning out dance music throughout the 80s and 90s, has become one of the better-known ... ...America, although they did have a string of top 40 hits, some one which made it into the top 10 for brief stints depending upon what Billboard chart you were looking at. Yet at every dance club even to this day you can put on a remix of "Sometime" or "Chains of Love" and the floor will be filled.
Maybe one thing Vince Clarke didn't count on, being a straight man, was how identified the group he just created would be with the .. world. Yet it didn't ...

...loudly blast out Gary Numan's Premier Hits album with the window down.
The album boasts 18 of Numan's greatest hits and begins with an explosive 'Premier' version of Cars - a mix that provides an enhanced sound to the powerful and epic sounding belter that instantly transformed Numan into a worldwide celebrity back in 1979. The famous funky powerhouse hits of 'Are Friends Electric' and 'We are Glass' are interweaved with the cold, dark and sinister ... ...would wholeheartedly recommend Gary Numan's Premier Hits to those who are fans of the enigmatic figure or fans of 80's electro pop. This album provides a tremendous trip down memory lane, and some superb epics which will sound great as your are driving along.
I bought this superb album from Virgin Megastore about five years ago whilst at University - for the incredible price of £4. Money well spent.

...This is a greatest hits album from a band who I have up there as one of the master bands of Rock and Roll music. I am sure some of this bands songs have appeared on movies as soundtracks. In addition the main reason I bought this album is because they included the song you better you bet as track number 16 as well as the classic song 'who are you'.
Largely because of these two classic tracks I bought the album as I wanted to listen to other tracks ... ...songs all of which were greatest hits by the Who. I will try to describe and detail as best as I can on a track by track basis.

Track 1: I can't explain: This perhaps is an interesting song, as it starts off in a punchy and forceful way on the guitar as well as having nice to hear lyrics. The song provided me with a pleasant mood to hear other songs on the list. Overall I find this a really great track that really ...
Of Whales and Woe is Les Claypool's first proper solo album. His name may not be familiar to all as he is better known as Primus' frontman bassist extraordinaire. This album was released back in 2006 on his own record label Prawn Song. (It was recently re-released on vinyl as of November 2009.) Not so much of the wacky lyrics on this album but a far more accessable feel than his previous works. Nearly every track featured here is bass-driven in his ... ...check this out! The arrangements of the other instruments like saxophone sitar, guitar and drums, etc sit really well together without drowning anything out. The songs themselves are really catchy and you'll find yourself singing along too by the end of it. There is even one track on here, Iowan Girl, written specially for his wife with some of the most amazing bass playing I have ever heard. There isn't a bad track on here in my opinion.
