Some Might Say This Is Oasis' Crowning Glory
Advantages: Ten excellent tracks. Superb lyrics. Good booklet. Disadvantages: Not sure of the value of the two mini tracks.
This album is a superb follow up to the debut "Definitely Maybe". There are 12 tracks two of which, the untitled songs 6 and 11, are really subtracks which either link the songs either side or lead in to the following track. The running time is, give or take a second, 50 minutes exactly.
It contains four singles that all reached either number 1 or 2 in the UK singles charts and contains probably the band's best work alongside the aforementioned ... ...with a greater number of tracks on this album than on any of their other albums. I would say this album cemented Oasis' place as one of the very top acts of the era.
The booklet contains some interesting portrait photos and also the lyrics although they do not appear in track running order, except for the opening and closing tracks which do appear in the anticipated places.
"Hello" is a rousing opening track and a great song. Not sure I would expect ...

The Album Of The 90's!
Advantages: Everything that the music industry needed. Disadvantages: none
This is it...forget everyone else, this is the album that made everyone stand up and take notice of actual songs again.. from the start this album grabs your attention and doesnt let go...a true classic!! The lyrics speak to a generation and united a country into loving great music again that was truely 'british' this was Oasis' time!! Although they went on to have more success with 'morning glory' this was the album that set the precident for them ... ...nation waiting for their releases, this was the album that made them the party band that the country wanted. I dont think a band has been as culturally viable as oasis since the beatles and in my opinion i dont think there will be another band that get to these heights as a band ever again. As i said before, this album is a true classic! ...

Go and buy it!!!
Advantages: Value for money, easy listening great lyrics, sexy band members! Disadvantages: couple of weak tracks but don't let that put you off
...still sounds like it could be re-released today and still be a hit. I love the pictures in the album cover, i have used them in frames for a wall display and they look brilliant! I can't fault this album, or any others of Oasis's masterpieces. "Stand By Me", "Fade In-Out" and "All Around The World" are classic Oasis anthems. I actually prefer definitely maybe as it seems to kick ass just that little bit more, but I love this album, especially played ...

Heathen Chemistry - Up To Scratch?
Advantages: Consistently good songs, with a few great ones Disadvantages: Some poor decisions, especially the hidden song
...off as a poor effort. Heathen Chemistry, having been released in 2005, falls perfectly into this category. Upon first release, it didn't measure up to Definitely Maybe or (What's The Story) Morning Glory?, and was, in a way, regarded as a failure because of it. Is this fair, though? Do people only see it as a weak album because they're comparing it to masterpieces? Personally, I feel if the majority of current bands had released something this good, ... ...isn't quite perfect, but it certainly deserves a chance. The Hindu Times - A classic Oasis opener, and one of the albums strongest tracks. Great, snarling vocals and energetic guitars. A top quality track. 10/10 Force Of Nature - A powerful, angst-ridden song, with a real punk feel to it. Sung brilliantly by Noel, it has an extremely memorable, strong riff. Perhaps not what Oasis are best known for, but an amazing track. Criminally underrated by ...

Giants get shorter everday.
Advantages: Nice vocals, interesting turn for Oasis Disadvantages: Lyrics, couple of duffers.
In 'Fucking In The Bushes' a sample garnished, stone fisted instrumental Oasis open the album with the different sound critics have been nagging at after 1997's Be Here Now treaded familiar ground for a carpet-thinning 70 minutes. A stomping beat, snarling riffs and a chorus of spiraling guitar licks over a spoken 'Children running around naked fucking the bushes' sample lifted from some dusty old film mark this as one off Oasis' most original ... ...brings an immediate return to the Gallagher's Beatle emulating ways. However this a pretty good shot at it; a head-nodding groove in the baseline rescues the predictable chord progressions. Liam's vocals on this track are amazing, not because of any technical elegance but because they grind over this track like an overdriven guitar, giving the song a power that a Liam-less band could not achieve.
'Who Feels Love?' is a disappointing entry, an ...
