Excellent album,well done.Brings back memories of good times long past. Would recommend it to any Eagles fan. I saw it in WHSmith and bought it on impulse, as it has been ages since I have heard any Eagles music. I was not dissapponted. In my opinion, yes and no. Yes if you can find it on sale or pirate it from the Internet. No if you think it's good enough to pay full retail price for. I didn't pay full price, of course, being the cheap miser that I am. All the songs are about life's experiences which is probably why the listener can so identify with them and mean something to them. There is a track for everyone on this album.
1. NICK OF TIME
This song is ... ...about a friend of Bonnie's whose biological clock was slowly running out, .but just in the 'nick of time' finds love.
The piano is played by Raitt on this track.
2. THING CALLED LOVE
Good bass riff for intro and then lead and drums following in. Great foot-stomping beat with the slide guitar making a notable first entrance on the album.
3.LOVE LETTER
This is nicely toned down, with a slow sexy drum intro. Bonnie's soulful voice is so pleasing ...

Not surprisingly given its title, IV is the North Carolina quartet's fourth album and their most commercial to date. While the band have certainly not abandoned their bluegrass roots they have successfully crossed over into something more accessible, a kind of 'newgrass' if you like. I'd only vaguely heard of the band before their appearance on BBC's Later with Jools Holland earlier this year and I'm not sure that reviews of their previous albums ... ...fall under the bluegrass banner, IV as a whole is better described as 'Americana'; pedal steel and steel guitar send the songs more in the direction of alt country and should appeal to the wider audience than the banjo dominated songs that used to be the trademark of CCL.

...This is a greatest hits album from a band who I have up there as one of the master bands of Rock and Roll music. I am sure some of this bands songs have appeared on movies as soundtracks. In addition the main reason I bought this album is because they included the song you better you bet as track number 16 as well as the classic song 'who are you'.
Largely because of these two classic tracks I bought the album as I wanted to listen to other tracks ... ...songs all of which were greatest hits by the Who. I will try to describe and detail as best as I can on a track by track basis.
