...for the starting pistol on this his second album in nine months ,once up and running there was no stopping this records amphetamine driven coiled sweaty rhythms and precise economic melodies ,tracks like "Pump it Up" and "The Beat"suggest the pill popping mod culture of his childhood ,this particular sound already snapping at the heels of punk rocks fading constellation and like his contemporary ,Weller ,Costello had no qualms or shyness concerning ... ...old today and thats why this record fully deserves its "classic " status .
This particular re -issue concerns itself more with the packaging than the sometimes pointless extra tracks ,it resemles a rather beautiful miniature L.P made mostly of card and paper highlighting the original iconic artwork portraying the geekish Costello peering over the top of a tri-podded camera which might as well be a machine gun in his hands ,there is just one bonus ...
Advantages: fast tracks, lots of shoe stomping stuff Disadvantages: none
This album is the next one to be released after the fabulous 'sweet dreams' album.I love the synthesisers and the guitar sounds on this album , if only they were still together now! The lead single, "Here Comes the Rain Again," is fantastic and so catchy with a great beat and rhythm. The soulful "Who's That Girl" will send goosepimples down your back as this song hits reality. The final track, "Right by Your Side," is fast and foot thumping stuff. ...
Advantages: You need this in your collection Disadvantages: None Whatsoever,At all.
...The title track Savage is a dark track, heavy beats, electric guitars and dark lyrics and it's fantastic.
I Need A Man blasts in.Rocky,Raunchy and unforgiving.Annie really belts this one out and her rap in the middle is classic.
The final track I'll review is Brand New Day.It's starts off quite sad in accapella with just Annie singing and on backing vocals then halfway through it just bursts into life.It lifts you up and ends the original album perfectly.

...This is a greatest hits album from a band who I have up there as one of the master bands of Rock and Roll music. I am sure some of this bands songs have appeared on movies as soundtracks. Largely because of these two classic tracks I bought the album as I wanted to listen to other tracks ... ...songs all of which were greatest hits by the Who. I will try to describe and detail as best as I can on a track by track basis.

Track 1: I can't explain: This perhaps is an interesting song, as it starts off in a punchy and forceful way on the guitar as well as having nice to hear lyrics. The song provided me with a pleasant mood to hear other songs on the list. Overall I find this a really great track that really ...
Of Whales and Woe is Les Claypool's first proper solo album. His name may not be familiar to all as he is better known as Primus' frontman bassist extraordinaire. This album was released back in 2006 on his own record label Prawn Song. (It was recently re-released on vinyl as of November 2009.) Not so much of the wacky lyrics on this album but a far more accessable feel than his previous works. Nearly every track featured here is bass-driven in his ... ...check this out! The arrangements of the other instruments like saxophone sitar, guitar and drums, etc sit really well together without drowning anything out. The songs themselves are really catchy and you'll find yourself singing along too by the end of it. There is even one track on here, Iowan Girl, written specially for his wife with some of the most amazing bass playing I have ever heard. There isn't a bad track on here in my opinion.
