...grunge if I’m honest, but California (fronted by Mike Patton/Faith No More) was a refreshing new sound, unlike anything I’d ever heard before. Be prepared to give your ears a brand new listening experience, if you’ve never tried Mr Bungle before, you could be very pleasantly surprised! On the other hand, you may just wanna head for the hills right now! The whole album is a mixture of abstract and absurd that actually works! Expect ... ...Boys’, Wurlitzer, grasshoppers in mass frenzy (!?), and tribal chanting. Sounds weird huh? Yep it is, but dig deeper, there are some masterfully crafted sounds going on here…

A Trip to Marineville is the Swell Maps debut album released back in 1979, the album is hit and miss but there is underlying geniusness! Whilst they didn't really make a big impact when it comes to commercial success, they made some pretty cool songs and had inspired future generations of bands - Sonic Youth for instance.
The Swell Maps have slightly muffled tracks on this album which aren't particularly well produced but this is punk and I don't ... ...rolls are there, the guitar playing is sound and the vocalist uses a mixture of Johnny Rotten's voice and Sylvain Sylvain, whilst being as good as neither - at least he has good taste! Whilst tracks like Spitfire Parade and Vertical Slum may show the band in a fast Sex Pistols like style of punk or even pre-punk, plenty of other tracks show a more artistic, alternative side to them more similar to Wire or PIL - Harmony in Your Bathroom, Gunboats ...

...to it? First off, Congotronics is seven tracks or fifty minutes long, whichever you like. Most songs are a danceable 8 minutes in length, enough to get you dancing round the kitchen (as you cook) whilst not exhausting you so that you forget to add the salt.
How does it sound? Now that's the hard thing to explain. It's very African. The rhythms and the drums all sound very, very traditionally African, but not in the way Peters Simon and Gabriel African ... ...enjoyed a CD as much and as innocently as Congotronics. Normally I seek out strangeness or that which is a difficult listen but Congotronics is almost obscenely accessible and enjoyable that there's no need to see it as a guilty pleasure. ...being 'Forever Is Over'.
Forever Is Over is the sixth single from The Saturdays and taken off their second and latest album Wordshaker. The single was released in the United Kingdom on 5th October 2009 and has earned the band a number two in the charts. Forever Is Over takes the band into a new direction as this a completely different sound to what they have been used to. At first , I thought it reminded me of another song , but then after I realised ... ..., to which I later discovered that this song was in fact actually written for Kelly although it was then given to The Saturdays. What makes it sound so similar to Kelly's sound is the fact that it has quite a 'rocky' sound to it as well some electronic vocals , which I myself aren't that keen on. There are parts of this song which I quite like , especially the chorus , but the rest of it , I just find plain annoying.

I love every song on the album specifcly "Him" and "Everyone's at it".
