Advantages: As elegant an introduction to Glass' music as it is a source of joy to the inititated Disadvantages: None to this enthralled listener
...of six CDs for CBS, Glassworks is a Philip Glass primer. It's not a compilation, more of an introduction to the master minimalist. To quote Glass directly "Glassworks was intended to introduce my music to a more general audience than had been familiar with it up to then". And indeed it does. It represents one of his most accessible works, as well as being one of his most haunting and most beautiful.
For those less conversant with Philip Glass, he ... ...But why is Glassworks such an accessible introduction to Glass? Regardless of Glass' assertion that it is an introduction, there must be a reason why. Certainly an album like his soundtrack to Koyaanisqatsi is accessible and in fact contains some of his most beautiful music. Equally, Solo Piano is probably more accessible yet; simple, haunting cyclical notes cascading from Glass' keyboard. I think the answer lies in the fact that Glassworks is placed ...

After the brilliant start to the album it seems to go downhill with Alejandro in which she starts the song speaking to her supposed lover ‘Alejandro’ the song is a mid-tempo dance number but I feel that this is a disappointment as it’s more annoying that catchy whereas her previous songs were just annoyingly catchy! Leona Lewis' second album has been 2 years in the making, and I've very much been looking forward to the release of this. Advantages: The Band are great on this CD. Disadvantages: One song repeated-poorly.
Basically a good CD, only nine songs, one is repeated only faster.
On a night like this. Dylan’s glad some bird comes to see him and have some coffee and a chat which they do.
Tough mama. The band plays well, Dylan sings too. Not sure what about.
