A good buy
Advantages: A good mixture of songs Disadvantages: Some of the tracks are a bit short
This album contains a number of really good, original songs. One of my favourite is 'A Poem on the underground wall' Although it is only about someone grafitting a wall, it contains some beautiful lyrics. Quite a lot of the tracks on this album have lovely lyrics which are full of imagery. This includes 'the dangling conversation' 'Flowers never bend with the rainfall' and 'patterns' I think that all three of these are good, original songs with interesting ... ...songs is 'Cloudy' It sounds really dreamy (both the lyrics and the tune) and is quite a relaxing song to listen to.
This album also contains a couple of fun songs like 'The 59th street bridge song' 'The Big bright green pleasure machine' and 'A simple desultry philippic'. The latter song is a bit strange, and towards the end of the song it sounds a bit as if the're stoned when the're singing it. ...

Ten thousand people maybe more
Advantages: Excellent performances, and more that just a greatest hits live set Disadvantages: None if you're a fan
I don’t know whether there were exactly 10,000 in the audience at Central Park, NYC, on the night of 19 September 1981. But I’m sure they weren’t talking without speaking, or indeed hearing without listening. And I'm not the only one to be glad that the show they went to see, an all-too-brief reunion of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, was captured for posterity.
There are live albums and live albums. Some are of defining moments ... ...shoddy way of completing an artist’s contract. If this one doesn’t quite fulfil that first criteria, it’s certainly no mere perfunctory on-stage greatest hits jamboree. Nearly all the 20 songs featured can also be found as studio recordings on their other albums and CDs, but there are enough little differences to make this an essential or almost-essential acquisition.
The show opens with ‘Mrs Robinson’. Brisker and ...

As I Draw My Latest Breathe
Advantages: Easy to listen to no matter what mood your in. Disadvantages: Not everyone may enjoy the Gaelic tracks
...So I decided to do Amazing Things as the first album on my list.
The band are:
Donnie Munro: Vocals
Rory MacDonald: Bass, Vocals and Accordion
Malcolm Jones: Guitars, Mandolin, Accordian, Midi Bagpipes, Acoustic Bass
Peter Wishart: Keyboards
Iain Bayne: Drums/Percussion
Calum MacDonald: Percussion, Vocals
Track 1: Amazing Things

This is one of my favourite songs by the band and probably my favourite song on this ... ...in and then the vocals, being joined by the guitars quite shortly afterwards. The song has a good beat and the vocals sound great with a mixture of traditional Scottish music and a hint of rock. The lyrics are pretty simple and with most Runrig songs you will feel like you want to sing along.
Track 2: Wonderful

The next track starts with the guitar and drum intro again into a slightly more upbeat song than the last one. The ...

30 years on and still phenomenal
Advantages: Simply fantastic music! Disadvantages: I'd prefer more Gaelic songs but this doesn't detract from what is on the album
Everything You See is the fourth album from Runrig since lead singer Bruce Guthro joined, and it's a cracker. I've loved Runrig all my life (since before I was born, but that's another story!), my favourites are from the 80s/early 90s, but this is also one of my favourites. The cover art is brilliant, featuring a shinty player, a very Scottish image. In fact my parents identified the pitch in the Highlands that he is playing on, but I can't remember ... ...that I dislike what they've done over the last 10 years), but Everything You See really is a return to form, even though their sound has of course evolved.
I'd strongly recommend this album, and Runrig in general, to anyone, young or old, as it is just good music. ...
