Advantages: 9 art rock classics Disadvantages: er, the cover?
...- released their debut album in 1980, at the height of the indie boom. It's clear that Murphy had been aping Bowie with his vocal style, indeed critisicm of the band would be that they were no more than Bowie clones. That's essentially unfair, as this forgotten classic shows. Ash was a good guitarist in his own right, and this is as much his record as it is Murphy's.

Faith is a superb Album and is highly recommended for anyone that is a fan of the Band. This deluxe version however is somewhat of a disappointment and I would suggest that you would be better oof spending your money on a single CD version of this Album, which is available. This includes the same tracklisting as Disc One of this deluxe edition.

Pornography represents the third album in a trilogy of releases that included Seventeen Seconds (1980), Faith (1981) and this album, Pornography (1982). We would later learn from lead vocalist/guitar player, Robert Smith that this was a difficult time for the band, and listening to these songs now I sense some of that in the mood that this album takes, although I was not particularly aware of it at the time.
Following ... ...would later tell us that Pornography was their darkest moment, recorded at the point where drugs, alcohol and fame had all combined to create an evil monster. There was only one single released from this album, partly because the band was falling apart with members leaving, re-joining and leaving again , yet this album came to be considered by many to be one of their finest moments. ... ...during the Second World War. Seventeen Seconds was the length of time that they had to get away from a Hand Grenade when the pin had been removed. I have no idea if Robert Smith has read this same Book but I would like to think that it is plausable as he sings “ Seventeen seconds, a measure of life, Seventeen seconds, a measure of time……”
The second Disc is actually the main reason why I decided to buy this remastered package. I do have all of the ...
