Led-Zep II. Sabroso!
Advantages: Musicality, Drumming, Guitar Solos, etc. Disadvantages: No One.
Led Zeppelin II is the second album released by the English rock band Led Zeppelin in 1969. The album was recorded during a hectic and much-traveled period of the band's career from January through August 1969, when they completed four European and three American concert tours. Each song was separately recorded, mixed and produced at various studios in the UK and the U.S. Some of the recording studios utilised by the band were far from state-of-the-art. ... ...It has been suggested that Led Zeppelin II largely writes the blueprint for 1970s hard rock. Blues-derived songs like "Whole Lotta Love", "Heartbreaker", "The Lemon Song" are now standards of the genre, where the guitar-based riff (rather than vocal chorus or verses) defines the song and provides the key hook. ...

Hammer Of The Gods
Advantages: Heavy Rock overtones with strong blues and folk influence Disadvantages: Not long enough
...gentle folk tied in with Led Zep's typical transferance to the opposite extreme. A good chorus, but not too overstated.
Next, is my personal favourite song of all time, The amazing "Heartbreaker". This starts as it means to go on, and we even get a big Jim Page solo in the middle. Granted, live versions of this song are often better, but this one is still worth a listen. This is immediately followed by "Livin Lovin Maid" a little known Led Zep song, ... ...as they never played it live, which is a shame.
"Ramble On" comes next, which is a very folky song, but with a heavy chorus and build up. This song has strong lyrical references to the Lord Of The Rings trilogy. The John Bonham masterpeice comes next in "Moby Dick" An excellent riff, with an amazing drum solo.
The last song "Bring It On Home," does exactly what it says on the tin. A stomping blues song, that draws the album to a scorching climax ...

Alice Coopers First Album
Advantages: Great First Album Disadvantages: Some Tracks A Little Dated
Frank Zappa spotted the Alice Cooper Group and funded this their first album in November 1968. It is an interesting album and contains many dark numbers which hinted at what was to come. Indeed Alices former mentor supported Alice Cooper many years later as the Prodigy eclipsed the Masters work.
The album cover uses a paininting by Ed Bearsley which has got nothing to do with either the band or what appears on the record but is more apparent to ... ...briefly in the recording studio to help out on some of the tracks due to prior commitments.
1. Titanic Overture (An Epic Masterpiece as listenable today as when it was first produced)

What does it all mean?
Advantages: Trippy experimental 60s album Disadvantages: Bad drumming!
Pretties for You was Alice Cooper's first release in 1969 and anyone listening to it without being familiar with it would struggle to recognise it as Alice Cooper. The work is psychedelic rock n roll and sounds like The Doors with more emphasis put on guitar work and mouth organ as opposed to keyboard.
This album was released at a time when the band were yet to have really dabbled with shock rock, when they were based in California playing to hippies ... ...dressed "as barbie dolls" by another Zappa band The GTO's, an enterage of female groupies from the sunset strip.
The songs are trippy and fun, guitar work is fairly good, vocals are sound, drum sounds like someone tapping on a car steering wheel and the lyrics themselves seem to make little sense in the order they are written. Infact they make Syd Barrett look incredibly coherent, despite this fact - it doesn't stop me listening and listening again ...
