The flute is excellent
Advantages: Agressive lyrics, food for thought Disadvantages: The audio quality
Initially I got hold of a vinyl of this album and during the upgrade period it was the third album to be added to my CD collections and I’m very proud to own it.
Named after 18th century agriculturist, Jethro Tull came into existence in 1967 led by Ian Anderson. Basically from Blackpool & Luton, Great Britain. With typical flute work of Ian Anderson, they made the cross lead of guitar and flute their forte. Guitarist Martin Barre became a part of ... ...Ohara and Doane Parry. Drummer Bunker left the group after “Aqualung” was released. However their first foray “Sunshine Day” into the international scene was massive fiasco. But in 1971 Jethro Tull’s best ever work “Aqualung” was released but Ian Andersson’s lyrics became quite controversial because of his unadulterated statement on religion and society. But they undoubtedly cut out their niché with the magical flute of Ian Anderson and nervous but ...

A work of genius
Advantages: Mike Oldfield at his best!!! Disadvantages: No track access on CD
...very talented Mike Oldfield.
Amarok is like Mike Oldfield had remembered what he used to do,and do it very well indeed. It sounds spontanious, fresh, sometimes beautiful, sometimes aggressive,mad,melancholic.........and much more.It plays at 60 minuites,by which time when it has ended you feel you have been on some kind of musical journey around the world. There are celtic, folk,African and Rock influences that change, often abrubtly into the next piece. There ... ...this album but I think Amarok is much better.
A good analogy of Amarok is an organic musical patchwork quilt of Mike Oldfield doing what he does best, sewn together with all kinds of weird and wonderful sounds.
There are a few niggles, like the CD pressed as only 1 track ,making it difficult to access your favoutite section. Also, some of the sounds are,at times,a bit too startling. This is not an album to relax to.
If you want to hear a commercial ...

Absolute masterpiece
Advantages: Genuine lost masterpiece Disadvantages: Taken so long to be re-released on CD
...if not the world.
Air Cut. Not a dud note on the whole CD, playing at such a level that it takes your breath away and such a mix of music and styles that it dazzles. Is it Curved Air? Of COURSE it is.
Kicking off with The Purple Speed Acid Queen, a straight rocker, Kirby pulls off a blinding solo and we hear what Eddie can do on keyboards. Elfin Boy is the old Sonja at her most whimsical and then comes the extraordinary Metamorphosis. Whatever ... ...fronted more incarnations of Curved Air and now has her own far more acoustic band, still touring and performing regularly. The voice remains fabulous. Kirby and Jim formed Stretch and had several albums and a hit single, and Kirby now works as a rehabilitation therapist in a famous clinic in Wiltshire and I am afraid that I do not know what happened to Jim. His drumming is just excellent here and I wish I knew more. Any help out there?

A demo album that you wouldn't think is one!
Advantages: Gives you a little insight into what Evanescence is. Disadvantages: You can't buy it in shops.
...many line-up changes.
Origin-(4/5)
Origin is a small 35 second intro to the album. It is only instrumental with some unknown spoken words. Some people would describe this as bizarre, but i think it goes perfectly with some of the songs on this album.
Whisper-(5/5)
Whisper is the last song on the album Fallen, but it is also on Origin. It is an awesome song which brings out a more symphonic side to Evanescence. It brings different instruments ... ...is used very differently throughout the verses and the bridge verse is a masterpiece bring a short burst of operatic vocals to the song and making it sound darker. At the end group chorals are used to again make the song sound darker. A fantastic song!
Imaginary-(5/5)
Imaginary brings imagery as well as music to the album this time. Many different instruments are used on this track that you do not find on others such as the combination of the harpsichord ...

Hard to resist!
Advantages: Sheer musical genius, classical music excerpts, unique Disadvantages: Those who dislike classical music may not appreciate it as much.
Muse are, in my opinion, rock gods and I loved every album they've produced to date. I consider Matt Bellamy a musical genius of the (rubbishly named) 'noughties' decade (of course I say this whilst also being aware the the talent of his bandmates too). As I was so busy in America this summer I kind of had my head in the sand and so it was a big surprise to see another Muse album on the shelves. Muse are a band that are going from height to height, ... ...this album seems to be as good if not even more fantastic than their previous releases... *~ The Tracks~* 1. UPRISING The album opens with a song that has Muse stamped all over it - the electronic backing, the epic guitar instrumentals and striking lyrics. This is a song full of attitude and self-importance that would not be out of place on 'Black Holes and Revelations.' It is a very interestingly political track about resisting the media's ...
