...album. I even wrote off American Idiot the single off as a bad song. The one lonely day i was watching kerrang and it came on. With nothing better to do i watched and listened intently. This was where I caught the green day bug. The songs seemed more mature and had an extra meaning and the solo in American Idiot just made me think they were trying to say "this is Green Day and we are back!" The album became a must have for me and therefore I went ... ...with all albums it took me a few listens to get into it. From there i learnt every song on the album on guitar, i even attempted on drums. The album was that good arguably it became an obssession. It also had a strong political view in it and therefore really caught my eye as a mature album. With a lot of messages that Green Day were trying to get across, returning to the true roots of punk, such as the Sex Pistols, and dragging it by the throat ...

I attended the actual gig myself in Milton Keynes and it was amazing !!! There were over 65 thousand people that attended over two nights - Green Days biggest yet.
I waited for this CD/DVD to come out very impatiently as I couldnt wait to reminise. Once purchased, i immediately put into my DVD player to watch. This is a documentary/ concert. In between each song, the band speak for a couple of minutes about various things relating to American Idiot. ... ...ruins the flow of the concert and can be a little disheartening. Also, I feel once you have watched in this format a couple of times, you don't need to hear the "facts and figures", you just want to get along with the concert.
The songs chosen for the DVD were suited to mainstream and maybe not the hardcore Green Day fans as such. Green Day have a song which is split into two tracks but they only have shown one half of this which is really ruined ...

Forming in Garden Grove, California in 1984; The Offspring are perhaps one of the best known and most well received Pop Punk bands of our time. During the mid 90's, it was bands such as The Offspring, Green Day and Rancid who revived a popular interest in Punk music in the U.S. - an interest which can be seen to have sustained to some extent ever since. Whilst Green Day went on to bigger and better things, having sold over 60 million records worldwide ... ...never enjoyed quite such an overwhelming commercial success (they've still sold over 32 million albums worldwide from the seven they have released however which isn't that bad really). The Offspring have always been a fantastic band, and having hated both Green Day's and Rancid's last albums, The Offspring remain the only band of the aforementioned three to have sustained my interest over the years.

Please Take Me home: This song has brilliant lyrics I love to sing along to this song simply because the rhythm is amazing!
Time to break up(bonus track): An acoustic guitar is the only instrument used in this song and it is only sung by tom it really shows that he has a great voice. This song does use a bit of bad language but I suppose it fits in the song perfectly.
