Well, i can say this brings music to my ears, a person jesus to me if you like, something most people would dislike nowadays, but for me, I love them, all over and all around, Depeche mode are a brilliant band for your entertainment and theyre fair in all aspects, unlike some bands, I think due to depeche mode being around a lot longer then some other bands, this is the gears to my ears, keeps me happy when i get down... I hope you all like this ...

Hits , over and over again

Advantages: classic tracks
Disadvantages: too much previously found on Pop!

Review of Hits (The Very Best Of Erasure) - Erasure

A return to form

Advantages: More memorable songs than any other Depeche Mode album since Violator
Disadvantages: Would have been improved by dropping one or two weaker tracks

...however pleased to say that Playing the Angel is for the most part a strong album and is probably the most consistent Depeche Mode album since Violator. The album starts strongly with the semi-industrial sounding single A Pain That I'm Used To and in fact the first 5 tracks are almost flawless, with a decent variation in pace too. Given their strength it's not surprising that 4 of these first 5 songs were released as singles, although if I had to ...
...single, released before the album came out) sounds a little bit "Depeche Mode by numbers" to me. This is the first time Dave Gahan has contributed to the songwriting on a DM album and his 3 songs are amongst the best on the disc (Suffer Well, Nothing's Impossible and I Want it All). By contrast I found the 2 tracks featuring Martin Gore on lead vocals a huge disappointment, on both Macro and Damaged People he sounds like he is simply trying too ...

Review of Playing The Angel - Depeche Mode

Get back to your youth!

Advantages: Good rocking songs, will take you back!!
Disadvantages: none

A real flashback to the Eighties, rehearing this album! Synthesier rock at its very best. There are the instantly recognisable tracks "Take On Me", a bouncy number, completely impossible to dance to (I dare you to try!) currently on re-release by A1. The bizarrely titled" The Sun Always Shines On TV", well this one rocks! There is also a sweetie of a ditty called "And You Tell Me..", short but very catchy. The 'worst' tracks must be "Living A Boys ...
...which stretch the English translation to its limit!! All in all, a cracking album, with Morten's fabulous vocal abilities (far better than Simon Le Bon!), being well show cased. The new album "Minor Earth,Major Sky", shows how Aha have moved on and developed their sound, and lost the plinky-plonk of the Eighties!! ...

Depeche Mode - Sounds of the Universe - A Pleasing, Mature Effort

Advantages: A brilliant, if slightly flawed, return to form worth the four year wait
Disadvantages: A couple of tracks fail to excite

...and slightly breathy number almost sounds like a duet with Dave doing the lead vocals and Martin’s recognisable, higher-pitched tremolo harmonising very much in the background. It’s a lazy track that meanders through its duration with seemingly little urgency and no particular destination in mind. One of those that almost sounds like its being played at the wrong speed on a record player. Somewhere in the middle, Martin seems to take more of a lead, ...
...ends.” Finally, a track that sounds positive, intends to be positive and has a little feel good factor. I knew they could manage at least one! One of my clear favourites on the album. Peace Driving beat and rising, waterfalling scales greet the opening gambit “Peace will come to me” before David tells us that “I’m leaving bitterness behind this time…” Hmm.
