Advantages: It's an excellent album Disadvantages: a-ha should be better than excellent
...album now. 7.5/10 4. Foot of the Mountain Keep your clever lines Hold your easy rhymes Phew! It's the radio-friendly lead single, with a less retro piano melody and the return of definite guitars and that epic, orchestral feel I've come to expect from a-ha this time round. This song is instantly catchy, accessible and thank goodness, the album has got EPIC at last. "We could stay there and never come back." 9.5/10 5. Real Meaning ... ...Oooh, a nice bass-y opening to the track, which is much more minimal than the previous song. It's a return to the more electronic feel of this album too, and feels understated; when you really listen it's more complicated than you initially thought. It's ultimately quite dull, though. Dull for a-ha, you understand. It's still a marvelous confection. 8/10 6. Shadowside But I do and I will This song has a gliding feel, and it makes me feel ...
Advantages: An uplifting album for the credit crunch generation Disadvantages: None
...80's revival disco last week, Yes is a must to have in your CD/ MP3 collection.
Yes is the Boys 10th, yes 10th studio album in a career that has spanned decades and produced wonderful hits such as Being Boring, Domino Dancing and of course the football anthem Go West.
The album was produced and co witten with Brian Higgins and his Xenomania team who are also responsible for the new Girls Aloud album, who added a sprinkling of their magic fairy ... ...track called 'This Used To Be The Future' featuring one Phil Oakey of 80's new romantic band Human League, a must for all fans.

Advantages: A brilliant, if slightly flawed, return to form worth the four year wait Disadvantages: A couple of tracks fail to excite
...and slightly breathy number almost sounds like a duet with Dave doing the lead vocals and Martin’s recognisable, higher-pitched tremolo harmonising very much in the background. It’s a lazy track that meanders through its duration with seemingly little urgency and no particular destination in mind. One of those that almost sounds like its being played at the wrong speed on a record player. Somewhere in the middle, Martin seems to take more of a lead, ... ...ends.” Finally, a track that sounds positive, intends to be positive and has a little feel good factor. I knew they could manage at least one! One of my clear favourites on the album. Peace Driving beat and rising, waterfalling scales greet the opening gambit “Peace will come to me” before David tells us that “I’m leaving bitterness behind this time…” Hmm. Heard that one before, but it looks like this time he really means it, even going so far ...
Of Whales and Woe is Les Claypool's first proper solo album. His name may not be familiar to all as he is better known as Primus' frontman bassist extraordinaire. This album was released back in 2006 on his own record label Prawn Song. (It was recently re-released on vinyl as of November 2009.) Not so much of the wacky lyrics on this album but a far more accessable feel than his previous works. Nearly every track featured here is bass-driven in his ... ...check this out! The arrangements of the other instruments like saxophone sitar, guitar and drums, etc sit really well together without drowning anything out. The songs themselves are really catchy and you'll find yourself singing along too by the end of it. There is even one track on here, Iowan Girl, written specially for his wife with some of the most amazing bass playing I have ever heard. There isn't a bad track on here in my opinion. Advantages: A great number of songs are good. Highly original. Disadvantages: No all the songs are that great.
Radiohead does it again. Highly original record. Most songs last forever. The in and out bass line of "Airbag" is brilliant. I also like the way this song slowly unfolds, specially the brilliant guitar. You might be surprised to hear that I don´t care too much for "Paranoid Android" one of their most famous singles. I thought "Subterranean Homesick Alien" was great too. "Let Down" is also a super song that must be in your collection. "Karma Police" ...
