of life ~A monty phython song from the life of brian ~~~~~FACTS~~~~~ Here are some facts which I know about the film: ~ The role of Melvin was initially offerend to John Travolta. ~ Verdell the dog, was played by 6 other dog's. ~ An earlier version of the script was called "old friends" ~~~~~~OVERALL~~~~~~ This comedy is as good as it gets! The acting was brilliant and the film was hilaroius. I am a big fan of comedy films and also romance films and I have to say that this is one of the best film's I have seen There were moments where I was laughing my head off and other times were I was nearly crying, it's an emotional rollercoaster of a film. I think that Melvin is a bit of an oddball but all you can do is laugh at him, he's so funny. I was not disappointed with this film and would absolutely watch it again ...

As Good As it Gets Really!

Advantages: Great actors,Good plot
Disadvantages: none

Yesterday a friend brought a DVD to watch after our diner. It was the AS GOOD AS IT GETS with Jack Nicholson, that he just bought it. He has seen it at least 20 times and he was happy to see it once again with us. So we prepared our popcorn (sweet and salty),jelly babies, ice cream etc. and we watched it. THE PLOT A very cynic writer suffers from really bad illnesses and has as a hobby to insult everybody around him. He lives alone and it seems that he doesn't have any friends or family and he is absorbed in the writing of his book. In a house near by, lives a single mother who is trying to raise her asthmatic child with many difficulties. She works in a coffee shop that the writer is visiting often and she is the only one who can really serve him as she has the same behaviour with him, really! Next to his house lives ...

As Good As It Gets is one of those comedies that doesn't try to hard to sell every joke. It certainly doesn't resirt to slapstick visual gags either. No what you get here is a great script with good characters, acting and some excellent one-liners. Jack Nicholson plays Melvin Udall, a novelist with an obsessive-compulsive disorder. Melvin is not a nice man, he doesn't mix his words as he offends everyone he comes into contact with. He has a gay neighbour Simon with a dog, the dog is a creature he loathes but when Simon is hospitalized he has to take the dog in after some intimidation by Simon's friend. The dog somehow mellows Melvin and when he starts getting involved in the life of his breakfast waitress Carol he really starts to be a decent human being although it's a struggle. Nicholson is great an delivers the classic lines ...
