Album Notes: Recorded at Channel One Studios, Jamaica in 1978 and 1979.
Album Reviews: The Wire (5/01, p.73) - "...One of the best revival releases from Trojan for some time....this is a song, DJ version and dub sequencing of some of Thompson's heavier, self-produced late 70s sides..."
Advantages: Fantastic bassline. Original sounds. Good chioce of tracks. Disadvantages: It's music designed for sound systems. Sound quality suffers.
...This album has such a good first track - it starts with a short melody, and then ploughs straight into the relentless, unforgiving bass that is the backbone of all dub reggae. The start to this album is so heavy and mystical, you’ll be restarting it a few times- trust me. Augustus Pablo was born Horace Swaby in 1954 and was one of the biggest players in the dub game. His music reflects his unique talent. He was the first to use the melodica as a serious instrument but also played keyboard, organ, piano, strings, clavinet and produced his own music.
The album, released in the year 2000 is a compilation of previous material taken from albums such as ‘East Of The River Nile’ and ‘Original Rockers’. Fans of the era will recognise riddims like Real Rock, Satta Massa Gana, Java and that Horace Andy hit ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’. All tracks are...

Advantages: Some great songs, melodic and...great Disadvantages: Some weak links
...i bought this album on the strength of their previous offering, 'Marchin already' and was not disappointed. It is a more mature, possibly more relaxed record, with slowies like 'No One At All', 'Emily Chambers', and 'I Won't Get Grazed', but also some more up-tempo, rockier ones like 'So Low', and 'I Am The News'. The album contains some very good songs, but you can't help but get the impression they were struggling for material due to the slightly weak nature of a few of the songs.
Overall, i would reccomend it, as it is one of the few good CDs to have come out of 1998....

Advantages: Fun beats, different to anything else out there Disadvantages: will offend some people
..., and is a label they continue to run to this day. ICP's main set of record's is what they called 'The 6 Joker's Card's', each one bringing a different face of the dark carnival, each one bringing it's own dark theme. The GM would be the 4th joker's Card and was produced by ICP and Mike E. Clark, the bands long time producer and friend.
It wasn't long before they gained notoriety with some controversial releases (helped by appearances from pre major fame Kid Rock, and local legend Esham) so when the Walt Disney Company owned Hollywood Records paid a cool $1 million to buy ICP's contract from Jive Record's its fair to say more than a few eyebrows were raised.
When ICP submitted the GM to Disney for release they were told to remove three songs from the album, 'Under the Moon', 'Boogie Woogie Wu', and 'The Neden Game,' while also changing...
