Advantages: mixture of up-beat and slow songs Disadvantages: none
The RocketSummer is Bryce Avary, and at only 20-years-old, he self-produced, self-recorded his debut album and found himself playing all the instruments, and writing all the songs on this album.
The album is a mixture of power pop & slower ballads, which all have catchy hooks and lyrics.
The album starts off with 'Cross my heart' which starts off slow, then turns into an upbeat joyful song. I think this is a very good song to start the album with.
"What We Hate We Make" actually incorporates a chorus of children without making the song too cheesy at all. This song is very relaxing and gentle compared to others on the album.
My favourite songs on this album has to be ' Thats so you' because it's a song that makes you think about the words, and his voice sounds great on it. It's a very slow, romantic song, and i never get sick ...
Advantages: Good dialogue, good acting, interesting story Disadvantages: Is a bit of a slow moving story
Seeing how I think I did ok reviewing another of Wes Andersons movies I figured I might as well have a go at reviewing the others I've seen as well, so I figured I'd start with Bottle Rocket, as thats the first film that Wes directed and its also the first film that Owen and Luke Wilson and Bob Musgrave starred in too, the start of good things to come!
This movie I believe was written while Owen (and Luke(?)) and Wes were at university together in Texas in the 1990s and is now seen as a cult comedy hit.
Bottle Rocket is all about three friends who team up to escape their boring lifes and pursuit a life of petty crime. This eventually leads to the local criminal 'head honcho' who's played by James Caan, spotting them and convincing them to carry out a large heist - but is it too much for them to handle and will they get away with it ...
Advantages: Al Pacino, Classic Movie Disadvantages: None
Movie
Recently I was listening to the Swordfish soundtrack on the way to work, and on the soundtrack John Travolta speak about Dog Day Afternoon. He says that it is arguably Pacino's best movie and certainly Sidney Lumet's (The Directors) best movie.
Intrigued by this information I took a look on IMDB, where it currently resides with an impressive 8 out of 10, and sits in the top 250 movies of all time. I went and bought this movie on the back of this information, so how did it live up to the information I had heard?
I took a look at what the director Sidney Lumet has done, both before and since Dog Day, and I must say that I have not heard of many of the movies that he has done, and Dog Day is the only movie he has directed that I have seen.
Al Pacino who plays Sonny Wortzik needs no introduction, a brilliant actor who has ...
