Busted the sequel it seems. A cross between something horrible from the 60's and busted were thrown together,(forcefully) until they created McFly. Same manager from busted put them together and then one of them failed the busted auditions.
Now we must be subjected to their album. The fact is i think they are utterly convinced that they are rockers. i mean if you looked in the mirror and lied enough times maybe you'd think you were a rocker who happened to have a huge pre-teen fanbase, and a sound as unique as having hair.
lets take a very sad look at this hardcore album. first up is the single "5 colours in her hair ." this reeks of busted and is the first of many songs about a girl, not that thats a bad thing, except when every single song is nearly always about a girl.
next up is the equally dire "obviously", a song that reaks of a busted influence. its about a girl ( again) whos out of their league. Lyrically speaking you could put a few line of Busted in their and wouldnt tell the difference.
"Room on the 3rd floor" an attempt at a more serious edge to their music, trying to be more rocker and failing to sound like anything rock like at all. Im actually wishing id never listened to the damn thing now.
"That Girl" song about you guessed it another girl, so with that in mind my brain turned off quickly as i thought i was hearing the same things over and over....which sadly i was.
"Hyponotised" an explaination of how they get people to listen to this? no a ballad thats a little too country for my young ears. rockers my fff.....foot.
"Saturday Night" i dont know that it was about this one...it seemed so much like the monkeys it was unreal. Original as ever...
"Met this girl" about a girl...that he met, its like hitting repeat on number one.
"She left me....one big cliche from start to end about another girl...clearly they are trying to win the pre-teen audience.
"Down by the lake" not the lake haunted by Jason Vorges saldy..but maybe he cant kill pure cheese. About a girl (yet again )and people getting laid somewhere down the line. Clearly its back to the hardcore lyrics again.
"Unsaid things" no it isnt a pure 3 minutes of so of silence....they sing they sound like the rest of the album, please leave this nonsense unsaid in future.
"Surfer babe" this song isnt actually bout a girl who surfs....oh no its a reflection on societys need to cling to material things...no im lying its about a girl again. Next ...
"not alone" i feel his is an actual real effort to do something original, and yet i cant take a word or note serious because of their earlier tracks.
"broccoli" sounds like a mash up of unsaid things with no real purpose but too torment my ears into submission.
After listening to an album about all these girls i relised these guys have got to get out with actual real women and calm down a little. I also find singing about getting laid when your main audience are so young and female is a little pathetic. Originality is somethign a band like this has none of and never will.
I totally agree, Mcfly are made up of 4 pieces of solid substance that 'FLYS' like to land on! however, I have just heard a rendition of "You've got a freind" a classic tune of Carole King and James Taylor, I can't say they have done it justice, but cannot say it's carp! it does sound ok, however this is one of my favourite tunes.
At least one reviewer sees them for what they are. One actually says "what 18 year old girl could resist them?". Well, I'm 18, and I can certainly resist.....the sight of the little rock star wannabes is enough to turn my stomach. Good review xxx
el's big-budget pop spend and bona-fide talent--a calculated attempt to win over kids who have grown cynical about the manufactured pop industry and crave something more real...
