At last! An amazing album that I know whatever mood I am in will put a smile on my face! The album is a perfect blend of good, fun music and a dash of a bit more serious, mature vibe too.
The best part is the album is written by Tom, Danny (both of McFly) and James from Busted and the boys play all their own instruments and sing their own lyrics, as well as playing live as often as the allowed to. Showing that these boys are no cheesy, miming pop band.
The album begins with the very catchy '5 colours in her hair' the Do do do do do's are instantly recognisable. Its a very good start to the album and gives a very good promotion of the songs to come. Although the lyrics may seem a tad weird ('the rumors are spreading rounf that she cook's in the nude') this does not matter because this is what gives McFly an edge over other poppy guitar bands today.
We then lead on to Obviously, their 2nd single. This is a beautifully played song with less electric guitar and banging drums but a much more chilled out vibe, where Tom and especially Danny get to show off their voices. Danny's gritty souding voice perfectly compliments Tom's much smoother voice. This song is followed by 'Room on the 3rd Floor'.
The title track of the album was written by Tom and Danny, based on their experiences sharing a room in a hotel in the days before McFly this song definitely stands out on the album due to its complete individuality. It is a nice change becasue it is not about girls and so then gives the ablum much more depth and variety.
Next up is That Girl which is most definitely one of the best tracks on the album, as well as Saturday Night it is a very electric guitar based song and lets the guitar explore into amazing solo's (That Girl) and show that these boys can really play their instruments.
Other stand out tracks on the album include She Left Me, which adapts an almost 'Grease' vibe to it, which like Room on the 3rd Floor gives a nice change in direction, music wise.
For me, the most stand out, and brilliant track, on the album is Not Alone. This track is much edgier and darker than the rest of the album. It hits on a real life issue of feeling alone and isolated which many people can relate to and so instantly attracts you to the song. Danny's voice is outstanding on this track, also written by the boy himself, you can totally reelate to him and every word he is singing.
The album finishes with the comic named Broccoli which has a fun, upbeat ending to the album. This song suprised me becasue it was much better than the name lets on.
This album rocks, its fun and brilliant! McFly are not just 'Busted- wannabes' or whatever people want to label them. They can sing, play and write their album themselves so clearly the are so much more than wannabes!

Advantages: You will be singing songs from this album for months to come. Disadvantages: They used some of their album songs as B sides on their singles, which seemed a little unfair.
