The quality again is far superior to any other CD of his music. The remastering makes listening to his songs actually OK rather than the painful trawl that bad scratching can be. Being able to hear the lyrics is what makes his music (as well as the music as well) To think how people in the bible belt would have reacted to talk of the devil riding out and who he wanted to kill his family when drunken, must have caused a stir!! ...of how the whole album was made tlaking about set lists, cameramen etc., and showing various studios and personnel, the whole album was recorded live, and this section ends with all involved having their photograph taken. The whole dvd was filmed in London and Dallas during tour rehearsals. The rest of the dvd is in four sessions hence the title. Session 1 is the Full Band playing at Hook End Manor, Checkendon England Kind Hearted Woman, They're Red Hot, Sweet Home Chicago and When You Got a Good Friend Session 2 is the Full Band playing at the Studios, Las Colinas, Irving, Texas Milkcow's Calf Blues, If I Had Possession Over Judgement Day, Stop Breakin' Down Blues, Travelling Riverside Blues Session 3 is Eric and Doyle playing accoustic with Eric on vocals at 508 Dallas Park Texas, Robert Johnson made some of his final recordings... Disadvantages: Is a populist take on the disco era.

...This album is a broad yet typical retrospective of the commercial side of the disco era. Staples of the disco scene such as Chic and Earth, Wind & Fire feature here, yet in their most famous incarnations as opposed to the music that changed the face of the dance underground forever. There are rare stand out moments such as the highlighted Brothers Johnson classic 'Stomp' and Diana Ross's Chic penned athem 'Upside Down' however, overall this album is a good album for those that think of disco as a Car Wash style flares and afro 'Good Times' party. It's not for the connoisseurs of disco for whom any one of the Larry Levan or Joey Negro compilations would be better suited.... Read review
