Advantages: Another adventure by Hayao Miyazaki. Disadvantages: Open ending, A lot of nothing and unlike Miyazaki's other animations.

SYNOPSIS

'Porco Rosso' is an animation set in the late twenties, in Italy. It revolves around the life of a great ex-World War I Italian Pilot Fighter, called (surprisingly) 'Porco Rosso.' Although with great success and respect from his fellow people, Rosso is cursed and has to live his life with the face of a pig.
Rosso is certainly not retired from his days of work. Although he loves to lounge around in his secluded white-sanded beach, you will soon find out that he does not often get much time to spend his life there. As he still has his red monoplane - his pride and joy, Rosso makes his living as a bounty hunter; by helping the villagers and often tackling and confronting the unwanted sea pirates. Rosso is rewarded for collecting and recovering the values from the pirates.

Advantages: A fantastic murder mystery adventure, with pure horror at its heart. Disadvantages: Unknown if this is the most uncut version or not.
Profondo Rosso AKA Deep Red AKA The Hatchet Murders AKA 100 other titles is a fantastic entry level Italian Horror Masterpiece. Filmed during the winter of 1974 and released in 1975, Deep Red as it's more commonly known was the vehicle which made Dario Argento a horror legend. Five years earlier Argento had struck gold with "Bird With A Crystal Plumage" which the critics immediately compared to Alfred Hitchcock's films.
Although not the creator for the term Giallo, Argento's movies and the words Giallo go hand in hand. In Italy the term Giallo is an accolade awarded to very few movies. Giallo in the briefest sense means Bloody Whodunit. But it goes further than that, much like the term Dogma has been over the last 10 years or so a Giallo film has to fall into a number of categories:-

Advantages: amazing animation, funny in places Disadvantages: quality of the special features
of the cloud, he spotted a white band high above him. The other squadron pilots from the battle. I'm not going to say anymore about that part of the film as I it'll ruin it for you.
Also Porco Rosso does has it's funny parts, which I wasn't expecting when I first saw it.
From my point of view this is a great film. If you're going to watch it to chill out for a bit, or to watch with the kids, you won't be disapointed ...
