Advantages: Great songs - wonderful, popular tunes Disadvantages: A few songs aren't as good as the others
...I recently bought this CD from amazon, costing £4.97 (which I thought wasn't too bad a price for a CD of anout 75 minutes of good, popular classical music), because I thought it would be nice to have to listen to when I'm learning to drive in a few months time. When the CD arrived I put it on the shelf, intending to keep it until I'm learning to drive but the attractive cover was too attractive and so I just had to listen to it - and I'm glad I did. The CD is really good, with some absolutely wonderful songs like Gabriel's Oboe and Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini (18th movement), played by famous orchestras like the London Symphony Orchestra and the RoyalPhilharmonicOrchestra etc.
Tracks include:
1. Beethoven: Symphony No. 5 - first movement (07:12)
This famous piece of music is played by the North German Radio Symphony...

...Symphony, Cleveland Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony and many others. He regularly appears at the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall and in addition to his solo engagements also enjoys a thriving chamber music career. Conductor Carlos Kalmar is Music Director of the Oregon Symphony in the USA and principal conductor of the Grant Park Music Festival in Chicago - there is a useful website at www.grantparkmusicfestival.com which has a fuller biography of Mr Kalmar. He has conducted many major orchestras such as the Chicago Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, to name just a few and like Alban...

Advantages: A top quality orchestra playing Meat Loaf, great back or foreground music Disadvantages: As predicted, some of the songs aren't full length.
...This CD is just what it claims to be, classic Meaty favourites performed by a full blown orchestra (I didn't know there was a piano in an orchestra, but there is in this one {there may even be a guitar but I can't remember}).
The songs are performed to the highest quality and are instantly recognisable (assuming you know the original of course). This album is full of tracks spanning Bat 1 right up to Welcome to the Neighbourhood, and although epics like "I'd do anything for love" have been cut down to under 6 minutes, you get good value for money.
I bought my copy on ebay for £4, but would have happily paid double now I've heard it.
It'll be great background music for cocktail parties or anything that needs jazzing up, and I particularly enjoy listening to it as I drift to sleep at night......
