...Waterloo - The secong released album by ABBA, Lets face it Ring Ring - the first album- didn't make it near the charts as ABBA were unknown and had failed their first attempt at the euro, but ABBA managed to bring themselves into fame by having a secong go with waterloo in 1974. soon after Releasing this remarking album filled with incredible lyrics to each song. my favourite would have to be 'Hasta Mannana', it has a spanish ring to it. A pure mixture of songs written by Benny, Bjorn and Stig, at their very best. If you are looking for an album from the 70's number one band that invented 'glitter' then this is the one for you. classic....

Advantages: Original, beautiful, creative, imaginative Disadvantages: Still a little to hard or a little too soft for extremists
.... Instead of drum’n’bass mimicking dance music, this is drum’n’bass skilfully blended with jazz. Instead of the usual synthesised churning bass noises, he uses beautiful piano loops, jazz guitars, brass instruments, all kinds of creativity is shown. This leads to music which is original, exciting, and yet hasn’t lost the spark of power that makes it drum’n’bass, not just jazz with drums. This is just as well suited to chilled-out ambient home listening as it is to being played in a live D&B set in someone’s packed basement.
Roni’s work for this genre has been likened to Bob Marley’s inspirational reggae by the Guardian, and the Times calls this “a rhythmically ingenious and spectacularly well-crafted record” This album was the winner of the prestigious Mercury Prize in 1997, and was even nominated for a Brit Award, a major first for anything...

Advantages: Excellent arrangements, brilliant musicianship Disadvantages: A couple of weak links - often the latin ones
...reinterpretation of the original Cab Calloway classic. As track 4, it successfully slows the pace of the album and avoids things getting too crazy. As backing singers, the band are in "interesting" voice. While not perfectly in tune, their howling "Hi-de-hi" lines cut through the tingling piano.
Feeling sufficiently rested after the drop in tempo, track 5 bursts into your ears. The good-time, fun-time melody and lyrics of "You and Me and the Bottle Make Three" cuts into the album with its perfectly-formed brass arrangements and witty call-and-answer lyrics recounting the drinking exploits of a band member out on the town.
"Jump with my Baby" is a more traditional, almost Glenn Miller, swing song for much of the verse. However, it begins to verge on early rock n roll with its chorus and beautifully crunchy guitar solo - the first time Scotty...
