Advantages: Area Codes Disadvantages: Everything else
Considering the whole Rush Hour franchise is sponsorship with Def Jam you would have thought this album would have been littered with tunes, but im afraid to say, like many soundtracks, the flatters to deceive with too many fillers to push the single 'Area Codes'
Obviously the cd mainly consists of Def Jam artists, LL Cool J, Method Man, Montell Jordan and Luda and with the list of artists youd sometimes quite happily buy it without ... ...Ludacris & Nate Dogg. By far the best track on this album, single and video released
Mine, Mine, Mine - Montell Jordan. Average follow up, doesnt do much to keep the flow going
Party & Bullsh*t - Method Man & Teddy Riley. Poor productions from TR, his beats have been shot down so much i can see why. Whatever Method Man does on this track is overshadowed by 'drunk beats' that my ears cant stand
No - Kandice Love. Not bad actually. ... more
Considering the whole Rush Hour franchise is sponsorship with Def Jam you would have thought this album would have been littered with tunes, but im afraid to say, like many soundtracks, the flatters to deceive with too many fillers to push the single 'Area Codes'
Obviously the cd mainly consists of Def Jam artists, LL Cool J, Method Man, Montell Jordan and Luda and with the list of artists youd sometimes quite happily buy it without listening, i wouldnt bother.
Area Codes - Ludacris & Nate Dogg. By far the best track on this album, single and video released Mine, Mine, Mine - Montell Jordan. Average follow up, doesnt do much to keep the flow going Party & Bullsh*t - Method Man & Teddy Riley. Poor productions from TR, his beats have been shot down so much i can see why. Whatever Method Man does on this track is overshadowed by 'drunk beats' that my ears cant stand No - Kandice Love. Not bad actually. A Rodney Jerkins production is always good. One of the better tracks Hes Back - Keith Murray. Poor, too repetitive, one that could have been a good car tune with big bass but not quite good enough Love Again - Jazz & Jill Scott. Jazz from Dru Hill has always had a good voice and this duet with Jill Scott is nice. Thats all i can say really, nice summerish tune, whats it doing mixed up with the rest!? Keep It Real - Musiq & Redman. Chilled out D'Angelo type tune with a verse or two from Redman. Not bad but not great either Crazy Girl - LL Cool J & Mashonda. A Swizz Beats production sometimes he pulls out some amazing tunes, sometimes he pulls out some right filth, this is one of the latter! How Its Gonna Be - Lovher - The girl calls the shots but her Kelly Price like voice does nothing to enhance the poor beats, another poor one im afraid Paper Trippin - WC & Nate Dogg. Average at best. Nate Doggs lyrics are always worth a listen even for a laugh You Make Me Laugh - Christina Milian. Better uptempo delivery from this track, good voice and a beat that makes you tap your foot Mercedes Benz - Say Yes. A slow rock type track by some guy ive never heard of, shocking. For a track written by Gerald Levert, im disapointed. Must have taken 5 minutes to write Blow My Whistle - Hikaru Utada & Foxy Brown. Reasonably good track, simple offering, good beats Figadoh - Benzino, Snoop Dogg & Scarface. When the beats are as bad as this, someone needs to spit some good lyrics to bring it back...nothing. You'll be bored of it before Snoop comes on Im Sorry - 3rd Storee. Ok actually but its another slow love song that is way better than what the rappers can deliver Brollic - FT. Boring even with a Marvin Gaye sample The World Is Yours - Macy Gray & Slick Rick. One for the kids but on a parental advisory cd. Explain
Watch the film by all means but leave this alone, fillers all the way.
