As much as I love this album it had a lot to live up to after the release of parachutes, which i think it did well. It does not have as many outstanding tracks except it has a few more powerful tracks and more memorable melodies. Chris Martins voice is what really makes this album what it is, he manages to reach the notes that many other male singers can't, but he does it well and that is what makes him a cut above the rest. The reason I entitled this review 'Original?' is because as good as this album is it sticks extreamly close to the formula they used for Parachutes. I know that parachutes was a good album and the new album is even better BUT, I have a concern that they keep following the same pattern and arn't introducing anything new into the songs. To take a rather extream version of this transformation; The Beatles. They started off with bubbly, catchy tunes and ended with long powerful ballads. One main feature that has improved on Coldplay's new album is the lyrics. This time they actually mean something, and in some songs actually make sense. As much as i admire Chris Martin's writing capability i think he needed an album like this to really prove himself as a songwriter. This is a very original album, even though it does stick with Coldplay's very narrow stream of genre. This album is an album that is for everyone of all ages; it has quite rocky, powerful songs such as clocks, but also some slower songs like the scientist, my personal favourite as it shows the true capability of coldplay to show their true musicla/vocal talent. This is an album i would not be ashamed to give to a younger sister or even a grandparent, an amazing achievement.
Tracks to look out for: Politik In my place God put a smile on your face The scientist Clocks Warning sign A rush of blood to the head

The review is quite good, but I don't think recommending that many tracks is necessarily a good thing - consumers like guidance but at the same time want to find out things for themselves. Keep up the reviewing though.

On Coldplay's A Rush of Blood to the Head, the melodic excellence of Parachutes remains, ... more
as does the delicate soulfulness of Chris Martin's voice. But now different styles are approached, as the band develop even further beyond their debut album (and t...

Advantages: Accoustic harmonies and easy to listen to songs.Sincere and heartfelt lyrics. A really nice album. Disadvantages: I didnt like it as much as X&Y or A Sudden Rush of Blood to the Head.
