SANTIC Collection, The - Various Artists

Advantages: Beautiful and atmospheric
Disadvantages: Too short and not for everybody

...of classical with occasionally a bit of folk and sometimes some (very) soft rock, all depending on the artist(s)/composer(s). This isn't necessarily what it is, but I feel it's a good way to give you an impression of what Celtic music is. This album consists of what is dubbed as "The Celtic Collection". I don't really know any other Celtic music other than what's on this album so this may be some of the best Celtic tracks every composed. It is a compilation of some truly impressive tunes from some great artists. THE TRACKS 1 - James Galway & Phil Coulter - Callin Na Gruaige Baine - The intro to the album is a slow, calm, with quite strings and some calm but good singing. Advantages: Comprehensive round up of the big tunes of 2008
Disadvantages: No beyonce! shock, and some horrible non-R&B on CD2

...As another year draws to a close and the Christmas madness begins as sure as sure can be you know you the music store shelves will be packed full of compilations. Restrospective compilations are still the flavor de jour, and R&B Collection 2009 (As it is oddly entitled) features a round up of all the tracks that did the business in yes, 2008. What we have is a nicely packaged, although the cover is a little bog standard, 2 CD set with a bonus DVD featuring 15 music videos. This will undoubtedly set this one apart from a lot of the field. But more importantly on a compilation such as this one, how does the track listing measure up! I will now take you on a whirl wind tour of the 40 tracks featured on the album commenting on some of the more stand out efforts. Advantages: appeal to all ages
Disadvantages: few songs are repetitive

...The twilight soundtrack is a mix of artists from paramore to muse, Its a mixture of styles, ranging from upbeat, rocky sounds to slow melodic sounds. Some of the songs are very catchy like linkin parks 'Leave out all the rest' and 'decode' by Paramore. Also included in the album is 'Bella's lullaby' by Carter Burwell for all you twi-hard fans! This album (for me) is something i would definitely recommend to buy as it has music for everyones tastes, and is an album for all ages. The one thing that i will point out about this album is sometimes it does have a knack of sounding slightly repetitive, and out of fifteen songs i would recommend twelve out of fifteen that are positively cheerful, singalong songs.
