Album Reviews: Q (10/00, p.148) - 4 stars out of 5 - \"...One of the world's first concept-albums and a classic of British kitchen-sink psychedelia, saved from the genre's winsomeness by its bleak vision and band's own energy...\"
Advantages: Some good songs Disadvantages: good songs heavily outnumberd by rubbish
...the new afi album is a far cry from their older stuff. if you're a fan of Sing The Sorrow then this will probably be your kind of thing. But if you've been a fan for years, then tick to their older stuff, theyve taken on a new more 'emo' personna. There are however a few good tracks, but you wouldent notice this from the utter rubbish they seem to be releasing as single. 'Kill Caustic' and 'Affliction' are pretty good tracks, quite heavy for afi, but im a fan of heavier music as well as punk. There are guest vocals from the singer from bleeding through on this album somewhere, but it is not specified where. the first of the two bonus tracks 'rabbits are roadkill' is not that good but the cover of Nine Inch Nails 'head like a hole' is pretty damn good.
So in conclusion buy this album if your into the new 'pop punk emo' fad. but if youve...

...of the album was going to be pretty hit and miss - thankfuly I was wrong. Its not awful, but its not that great either.
~Of Wolf And Man(Metallica)~
WOW! Of Wolf and Man, was always a pretty powerful track. Coming off the ‘Black’ album it investigates man’s closeness to nature - or lupine nature anyway but always seemed to be missing a little something to me. Here it finds that something, with the San Fransisco Orchestra adding an 'Edgar Allen Poe' feel to the track, an insidious, creeping malice which makes the hackles rise - just as the song always intended. Awooooooohhhh!!!!!!
~The Thing That Should Not Be(Master Of Puppets)~
And if you thought the last track was menacing then you find that you hadn’t heard anything yet. The Thing That Should Not Be, is a dark, slimy, pitdwelling beast of a track. An underlying...

Advantages: Good instrumental playing Disadvantages: Lots of screaming, growling, shrieking, mumbling
...yen that's about $138 or 70 pounds? So they have added another venue has been added.
Line up:
Kyo - Vocals
Kaoru - Guitar
Die - Guitar
Toshiya - Bass
Shinya - Drums
Songs:
1.: Conceived Sorrow :
A sad melodic theme played by the piano and then the classical guitar breaks in. The song name is not misleading because it is sorrowful. Kyo tends to mutter his breath in parts of the song. The tempo is the pretty slow, the piano, drums and guitar just harmonises with each other as Kyo sings like a drunk. Then finally half way, we have a break through, the song gets more dramatic and the instruments hit of another melody, Kyo sings loudly (well done!) and holds his last notes and then the song returns to the sorrowful style. Repeat this process twice and voila. It's a nice ballad.
2.: Lie Buried With A Vengeance :
Screaming...
