SF Sorrow/Resurrection - Pretty Things (The)

Advantages: Some good songs
Disadvantages: good songs heavily outnumberd by rubbish

...the new afi album is a far cry from their older stuff. if you're a fan of Sing The Sorrow then this will probably be your kind of thing. But if you've been a fan for years, then tick to their older stuff, theyve taken on a new more 'emo' personna. There are however a few good tracks, but you wouldent notice this from the utter rubbish they seem to be releasing as single. 'Kill Caustic' and 'Affliction' are pretty good tracks, quite heavy for afi, but im a fan of heavier music as well as punk. There are guest vocals from the singer from bleeding through on this album somewhere, but it is not specified where. the first of the two bonus tracks 'rabbits are roadkill' is not that good but the cover of Nine Inch Nails 'head like a hole' is pretty damn good. So in conclusion buy this album if your into the new 'pop punk emo' fad. but if youve... Read review

...Im writing this review 4 years after the release of the platinum album BTNHResurrection and I still think its really good. Bone Thugs N Harmony are a rap group that come from Cleveland, Ohio. Their fast rhymes and smooth beatz have been playing commercially for over 10 years. Their greatest achievement was the success of the tribute track "tha crossroads", when it made it to the top of the Billboard top 100. After the release of the "Art of War", their only double CD album, a compilation CD with DJ U-Neek remixes was the only thing to come from Bone Thugs. Haters started saying they "fell off" and there were rumours of the splitting of the group. Then finally, in 2000 they released an amazing album. ...of the album was going to be pretty hit and miss - thankfuly I was wrong. Its not awful, but its not that great either. ~Of Wolf And Man(Metallica)~ WOW! Of Wolf and Man, was always a pretty powerful track. Coming off the ‘Black’ album it investigates man’s closeness to nature - or lupine nature anyway but always seemed to be missing a little something to me. Here it finds that something, with the San Fransisco Orchestra adding an 'Edgar Allen Poe' feel to the track, an insidious, creeping malice which makes the hackles rise - just as the song always intended. Awooooooohhhh!!!!!! ~The Thing That Should Not Be(Master Of Puppets)~ And if you thought the last track was menacing then you find that you hadn’t heard anything yet.
