Scarface (Music inspired by the movie) - Various Artists
Review of Scarface (Music Inspired By The Movie) [PA] - Various Artists by  Capodon

Advantages: A few scarface film samples
Disadvantages: Nearly the whole thing

...Many people have been influenced by the scarface film and the rap genre has especially referenced to it man songs. This is now an official compilation of songs with money, power and respect themes. as you would imagine, all are rap. Put together in 2003, this def jam idea includes songs by Nas, Mobb Deep and Notorious BIG, some made especially for the album some old tracks that just fit. None appear in the film but there are samples and dialouge used from the picture. Tracks Its Mine - Mobb Deep & Nas. Scarface cues used as the sample in this one which was originally put t ogether in 99. A good relevant track to start the album Yeo - Cam'ron. Samples Rush Rush which is used in the film, rush rush get the yayo may be more familiar. best bit about the song is actually the sample with cam'rons raps not adding much but loads... Read review

Soul Music is DEATHENING!!
Review of Soul Music From Terry Pratchett's Discworld (Animated) (DVD) by  CaptainDisaster

Advantages: Good translation of the Discworld novel...
Disadvantages: ... not as funny as the book

...what is happening - along with the tension of fame and success threatening to tear the band apart? and then there's? no, you'll have to watch it yourself if you want to know more! (Well okay, or read the book.) The plot of Soul Music does stay very faithful to the book, and it's able to fit pretty much every event of any significance in (being a short book and the series having a total runtime of just over 3 hours). The humour sticks pretty much to the book as well insomuch as it can, though due to the medium used it seems to have a much more surreal atmosphere, and throws in a couple of extra parodic elements. A lot of individual artists and bands get sent up in this as well as the whole rock music phenomenon. The characters are played pretty well with excellent voice acting (Christopher Lee being perfect as Death, while the voices... Read review

Skinhead Revolt is Awesome!
Review of Skinhead Revolt (20 Skinhead Classics) - Various Artists by  john_harrison

Advantages: Awesome music, less than obvious selection
Disadvantages: Only 20 tracks!

...This 20 track compilation from Trojan, which was released in the mid nineties, is easily one of the best quality releases of genre I've seen - someone obviously compiled it with lots of care and affection. It gathers together 20 early reggae and rocksteady songs from the late sixties, and is a great showcase for examples of the emerging early reggae sound. It begins with the classic UK stomper "Skinhead Revolt", a dancefloor smash from the UK-based producer Joe Mansano, and follows that with 19 more tunes with that real-deal soulful Jamaican sound. Highlights include the slightly haunting and organic ballad "What Will Your Mama Say" by Clancy Eccles, the skin classics "Death A Come" and "In the Spirit" by Lloyd Charmers, the uplifting vocal cut of TNT, "Loving Reggae" by The Maytones, and a cracking double header of rocksteady killers...
