1. SSX 3 Trailer: A First Look at SSX 3
This is just a short trailor for the game, including many clips of cut-scenes, making the game appear to have brilliant graphics. This is ussed by most game developers, so I can't complain about this. it makes you want to lay the game when you watch it though so, I'd say that this is very effective.

This is the soundtrack and extras disc to the 2003 snowboarding game, SSX 3. It includes some of the songs which were on the game. The music genres range from Hip Hop to electronica to metal. I feel that this covers all of the genres and cultures which are associated with extreme sports, of which snowboarding is a part of.
I bought the full soundtrack first and rented this to see if it was worth getting this and giving away the other version. This varies from the full soundtrack because, that gives you almost all of the tracks from the game, as well as some others. This one has one disc of a few of what were considered to be the best tracks from the game and on disc with extras for he game.
Disc 1
1. Don't Let The Man Get You Down - Fatboy Slim
**Three Stars**
This one is from the UK big beat artist, Fatboy Slim. As soon as I listen to it, I automatically think of this game, not that i hear it anywhere else.
This is just as many of his other songs, the music doesn't have much sense to it, its very eccentric, but that's what makes it a Fatboy Slim song. It is calm, and of a slow-tempo, its good to get this album going.
2. Más - Kinky
**Three Stars**
Kinky are an electronica band from Mexico, they came out of Monterrey, in the North East of the country. This song increases the tempo of the song and hypes you up.
This song comes from the band's debut album, which was self entitled "Kinky". I found this song to be quite nice it has a lot going on in it, I cannot understand it, because all the lyrics are in Spanish, but it sounds as if they are having fun with it.
3. Poor Leno - Röyksopp
**One Star**
This is from the Norwegian Trip Hop duo Röyksopp. I hadn't heard of them before, and I'm doubtful to whether I would hear them again. Some may like this though, that's just not my style so I don't stand as a general representation of everyone's opinion of this track.
I cannot say that I enjoy Trip Hop, so it wasn't a surprise to find out that this track didn't excite me at all, it was all pretty boring.
4. Freeze - k-os
**Four Stars**
This track is from before I had got into his music, when I heard "Crabbucket" in 2004. He is an alternative Canadian Hip Hip MC, and remains in the underground.
I must say that the title for this was vey appropriate, when you consider the game for which it is part of the soundtrack for. As this didn't get me into his music this early on, it shows that this one doesn't stand out too much amongst the other tracks in this album, it wasn't too strong, but it was good.
5. All Night - Swollen Members
**Three Stars**
Swollen Members are a Canadian Hip Hop group. This song is from the album "Heavy", which was their third LP. The album was influenced by heavy metal primarily, with Hip Hop as the back-drop.
This song is very much like other song that they made in this period of their career, as the messages they express are very dark and have deep feelings associated with them. I must say that isn't my preferred style from them, but I appriciated their input to the album.
6. We Don't Care - Audio Bullys
**Four Stars**
Audio Bullys are a UK electronica group. This was the most successful of their songs, manging to reach #15 in the UK charts. This song comes from their debut album and shows how the game has allowed them to get to a respectable place in the music industry.
This song is a typical example of music of this variety, with a music video to match it. The lyrics are sang by the lead singer in a distinctive Cockney accent, it makes it sound like a very 'in-your-face'
7. Leave Home - The Chemical Brothers
**Three Stars**
Here's another Big Beat song. The Chemical Brothers are very similar to Fatboy Slim in the variety of music tha they make.
This song suits the game well because its just a continuous hook. This hook alters in tempo and volume, just as other Big Beat tracks. I feel that its good to go without lyrics because you don't really concentrate on these whilst playing SSX. The track makes you fell as if you are floating just as you do in the game on all the time.
8. Like This - X-Ecutioners
**Four Stars**
The X-Ecutioners are a Hip Hop turntablist group also known as the X-Men. I was glad to see some Hip Hop that I knew previous to this on the album, because I had followed them for a while. I had first heard of them collaborating with Ghostface Killah and Black Thought on "Live At The PJs".
This song is one that i liked a lot, it has many turntablist scratches in it, giving it a distinctive sound. The lyrics sung throughout are ver memorable and are sang by an unknown female, I liked it a lot.
9. Rock Star (Jason Nevins Classic Club Blaster Edit) - N*E*R*D
**Five Stars**
This is the remix to N*E*R*D's "Rockstar". The group members, Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo are aprt of the porducing trio, The Neptunes. The play alongside Shay Haley to form N*E*R*D, who are in the process of mking a new album.
Jason Nevins made this alternative rock song into a club hit. It is more up-tempo and full of energy. I liked it very much and I don't know how you couldn't enjoy listening to it.
10. Glass Danse (Paul Oakenfold Remix) - The Faint
**One Star**
"Glass Dance" come from The Faint, who are a Nebraska indie rock group. This is the remix by Paul Oaknefold, ho has a lot of expericne in altering songs and making them better than before.
This song appears to have taken a lot of influence from electronica as the music has a techno under-current to it. There is a continuous thumbing sound throughout which maes it sound this way. I found it to be very repeatitive and annoying after one listen.
11. Do Your Thing (Jaxx Club Remix) - Basement Jaxx
**Five Stars**
When The Basement Jaxx finally released this song in 2005, I was sure that i had heard it somewhere else before, because i knew all the lyrics, but I couldn't work out where all this knowledge came from. it wasn't until I got an iPod and decide to put all my CDs onto it when I found it was on here.
The is the remix to this song. The original was released alongside the groups 'greatest hits' collection, "Basement Jaxx: The Singles" came out when it was released as a single, eventhough it was on the 2001 album "Rooty". This was one of my favourite songs from the album, it hasn't been altered too much, so its still a great electronica track.
12. The Bitter End (Junior Sanchez Output Remix) - Placebo
**One Star**
Placebo are an indie group from London. The artist who remixed this song is Junior Sanchez, a New York DJ.
I felt that this song was too similar to other tracks which come out of this genre of music. I don't like it when artists are unorigianl and take too much influence from the music around them. I felt that it was a bad decsion to have this as the final song from this disc, because its likely that many will fell the same as me, and to have it as the last song makes it less likely that the listener will continue listening.
Disc 2
I must say that this isn't need at all, because ifg you have this, then you are highly likely to own the game aswell. This feature is included in the game so, what's the point in having this on the DVD too. I suppose for anyone who didn't get the game would appreciate it, but its only there to fill-in space really.
2. Inside The Making Of SSX 3
This is just like any other making the game vidoe, its fun to watch, but there's not much point in it. All it does is spoil all of the exiciting aspects of it by showing how you make everything works. I think that only someone who would be tempted to get into this career path would enjoy this part of the DVD.
3. Röyksopp "Poor Leno" video
This is the video to a track that i have already talked about. The video wasn't really exciting, so I cannot say that it was needed.
The overall rating is disconnected from the individual songs, its in comparison to the other soundtrack, which I thought was much better.
Needless to say, I didn't buy this after the rental. One watch through it was enough for me. There wasn't much of a reason to have this if you have the game already, because the content isn't enough to get excited about. The song which appear on this aren't my personal favourite, and in fact the other album has all of the ones that I liked on it, so personally, I feel that the other album is better.
I wouldn't recommend buying this, but if you are unfamiliar with the game, then you may find this to be a good start to get to know the game. Rental would still be more appropriate in this case because once you have seen all of the extras, you can make the decision on whether to get the game or not, if you don't want the game, you probably won't like this. Also if you do like the look of the game, then this isn't need once you have bought it.
I will write a review for the other soundtrack soon.
