'S Wonderful/'S Marvelous - Ray Conniff

Advantages: superb songs, all of them brilliant, complete change from previous work - It's MADONNA!
Disadvantages: hard to listen to at first, please give ears time to adjust

...in a while. And while the music is indeed great, I must also rave about the voice of Madonna, who is surely not of this earth to have such a wonderfully perfect voice. With her earlier stuff you could hear that it had a kind of inexperience to it, a kind of plasticness if you like(that we witness plenty of times with the likes of Britney, Billie, Christina don't-know how-to-spell-her-second-name), but with age she has shed the wrapping from her voice so that it sounds perfectly marvelous. Now I'm going on. Sorry, but this album really is brilliant. I mean, if you like Madonna and you haven't got it, why not? And if you don't like Madonna, I still urge you to give this a chance. I don't know whether I could say it is my favourite Madonna Album, but it is certainly light years above the immaculate collection, which was brilliant in the first... Read review

...media) being that my old man would always juxtapose us with Ray Conniff, Perry Como, and Perez Frado- blaring on our stereo to the expense of my tortured wondrous childhood-- SGT PEPPERS contained those tracks that could really blow me sky high, mainly containing some of the most phenomenal songs of the Beatles such as “Getting Better”, “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds”, and the certain material of songs which paint vivid imagery on the epical scale for the likes of “She’s Leaving Home”, “When I’m Sixty Four”, and, yes the good stomp that could be found on Lennon’s “Good Morning Good Morning”. Other tracks such as “Lovely Rita” and “Fixing A Hole” are no notable exceptions. ...Im a huge fan of Madonna, I have recenlty bought the RAY OF LIGHT album, to add to my collection. This the first album she made after being coming a mother to lourdes, it was a first album since bedtime story which was 1994. I would say that this was Madonna;s Big step into electrionica as this album was produced with Willaim Orbit in 1998. On this album, every song has an meaning to it, i think that the songs on this album are also calming and energetic all at the same time. Madonna is truly one of the best recording artist of all time and as she becomes older her music becomes better. The album has 13 tracks on it which are all excellent, if you enjoyed listerning to her song FROZEN,RAY OF LIGHT,NOTHING REALLY MATTERS and of course the wonderful song DROWNED WORLD/SUBSITUTE FOR LOVE then this album is for you.
