It is often said that surroundings and situations can alter your perception of music and this was the case with S&M. I asked a freind to record the album without hearing it first as I had always liked Metallica's style and thay are by far the biggest thing in Metal. I first listened to it in the car and was blown away by the sheer power that is almost overwhelming. The tape was recorded on a special Car audio setting and it sounded great. Side one for me was the following. Ecstasy of Gold, Call of Katulu and Master of Puppets. And the reaction of the crowd is amazing. This is a fantastic cumulation of many years work and I heartily recommend this album to any Metallica/Metal fan !

Advantages: S&M is a completely new concept , no other band has ever done anything like it, great sound Disadvantages: It has a lack of songs from the first album Kill em all and is missing some classics which would have been interesting to hear such as fade to black and orion
