Metallica consist of four members James Hetfield - Guitar and Vocals, Lars Ulrich - Drums, Kirk Hammett - Lead Guitar and Jason Newsted - Bass (present time the bassist is Robert Trujillo)
Anyway Metallica's albums are normally recorded with just the four of them but this one has a twist it was recorded live with the San Francisco symphony orchestra. When I bought it the sound was beautifully crafted with all there best songs put onto two CDs.
21 tracks in total each one I can listen to again and again.
Disk 1 1: The Ecstasy Of Gold This song is an opening for the concert played by the orchestra, sounds amazing. I don't like classical music but dam is that a good opening.
2: The Call Of The Ktulu This is one of Metallica's songs, no lyrics just an instrumental but excellent all the same the orchestra fits in so well with this song. The original version of this song is on the album
"Ride The Lightning".
3: Master Of Puppets This song was one of my favourites from the older albums and still is on this one I could listen to it many times before going to the next track on the album. This song is from Metallica's album "Master Of Puppets"
4: Of Wolf And Man Another favourite from the self titled album "Metallica" otherwise known as "The Black Album" they make great use of the symphony in this song, truly touching.
5: The Thing That Should Not Be This track was taken for "Master Of Puppets" personally I think this song was not done as well as it is normally played.
6: Fuel Now this song was done very well is really was jazzed up compared to what it sounded like in the album "Re Load" great song to listen to.
7: The Memory Remains This is one of my favourites on the album partly because of the chorus where James lets the audience sing sounds spectacular but this is only from my point of view. This was taken from there album "Re Load".
8: No leaf Clover Before I bought the album this was the song that convinced me to definitely buy it. It's a must listen. This song wasn't released on any of there other albums.
9: Hero Of The Day This song could have been done better but still was a great song to listen to. Was on the album "Load".
10: Devil’s Dance Excellent song I really liked what was done with it. The orchestra did a good job playing it with Metallica. Was on the album "Re Load".
11: Bleeding Me Also an Excellent song, loved listening to it but the only problem with it was that it was the end of disk 1 :) First released on the album "Load".
Disk 2 1: Nothing Else Matters In this song there’s a great little guitar riff, along with the violins it’s made spectacular. Probably the lightest song on the album. This song was on the album "Metallica" but this one is far better.
2: Until It Sleeps I'm not such a big fan of this song but it sounds great compared to the version on there album "Load".
3: For Whom The Bell Tolls Another excellent song. It's newer than some of the other ones. Nice guitar riff in it, crowd singing along with the band. Nice.
4: - Human I had never heard this song before as it was never released or played on the TV. The Orchestra does a great job on playing this song with Metallica, I love it.
5: Wherever I May Roam This is one of my favourites from the album "Metallica" Great lyrics and great guitar solo. There aren’t many solos like this one; it's slow but still great.
6: Outlaw Torn This song is the longest song on the album at 9 minutes 58 seconds, you can't cut any of it out you have to listen to the whole thing. The vocals in this song are fantastic. I do think the version on the "Load" album is better though.
7: Sad But True This is the song that the band 'Kid Rock' used the riff in for the song 'American Badass'. Very good song to listen to. From the self titled album "Metallica".
8: One This song is a classic. The guitar solo alone makes this song great. With the orchestra it just makes it that little bit better. From the album ". . . And Justice For All".
9: Enter Sandman One of the bonus tracks on this album. From the album "Metallica". Great song to listen to not one of my favourites though.
10: Battery Another bonus track, the only bad thing about this track is that it is the last track on the album. It is my favourite on the both CDs. The opening in it is done great with the orchestra and the guitar solo in it is phenomenal, I could listen to it again and again. This track is originally from the album "Master Of Puppets".
In conclusion this is one of Metallica's greatest albums, I really like it and I would encourage anyone thinking about buying the album to buy it. I never knew a mixture of classical music and Metal could be so good.
