Advantages:
the album is a definate must for metallica fans, its kind of like a greatest hits album but the album is completly live and has a live orchestra in the background, recorded from a live concert (also available on DVD) also songs never released before
Disadvantages:
the only down on this is that some of the songs sound different with the orchestra in the background, but some people may prefere the version on this album than other albums (i myself do on certain songs)

The S&M album means sanfransisco and metallica as it is a live album where as metallica perform most of there greatest songs but with sanfransiscos live orchestra in the back ground. This album is a definate for potential metallica fans and also for already metallica fans that are looking to extend there album collection.
This album is a good first album to buy as people can get a taste of all of metallicas different varieties of styles they have used over there 22 year carear, and also get to hear two songs that have not been released on any other album songs including minus human.
this album is not only great becasue it holds many of metallicas greatest and most well known songs but it also gives people the chance to listen to metallica live, and believe me it is not a bad thing they sound better live than they do just on the albums as metallica are originally a live band.
this album is a definate must for all metallica fans and also people just getting into metallica.
