...Martyn Bennett was completely unknown to me until the night I decided to tune into a radio programme to be hosted by Mike Harding. I had followed his performances for some time visiting the local theatres whenever he was in the area. What I heard Completely overwhelmed me,

Advantages: Technical, well written, probably their best album Disadvantages: Too heavy for some
...Mastodon are back with this, their third album. This album has received critical acclaim, and was hailed as the best metal album of last year. The band have based this album on the story of Moby Dick.
Blood And Thunder (3.48) This powerhouse of a song, start's with an amazing riff, very memorable and very powerfull. The vocals may not be to everybody's taste but the lyrics are something to behold. There is a nice interlude at the end of the song aswel wich gives the song a nice twist.
Rating: 9/10

This album's got a country and blues feel with, of course, Knopflers unmistakable guitar. It also features duets with Van Morrison - "The Last Laugh" and James Taylor on the title track.
There's nothing new or exciting in this album, but most people wouldn't expect that from Knopfler. Still, its a professional, accomplished album. If you still like Dire Straits - especially the Love Over Gold type stuff, you'll like this album....
