Advantages: Easy listening, humorous banter Disadvantages: Not for the young
for an alternative, and then my husband suggested we try Radio 2, the only station he was able to receive on the battered old radio installed in his clapped out works van. He'd listened to Sarah Kennedy's breakfast show, known as the Dawn Patrol, a few times, and said that he'd quite liked it, being similar to the kind of thing we had been used to. I must confess, I'd never had any time for Game for a Laugh, the TV programme in which Sarah had been one of four presenters some years back, and which was the only time I'd ever heard of her, but we decided to give the show a hearing. It turned out to be a good decision, and the bedside radio alarm is now permanently set for 6am, when Sarah's show begins.
The show lasts for one and a half hours only, relatively short for a radio programme, but as lots of people are getting ready for and travelling to work ...
Advantages: Good balance of comedy and drama, good performances, quirky. Disadvantages: Horrid soundtrack, Samantha Mathis.
The only reason I had a watch of Jack and Sarah was the constant comments I kept reading about how Kevin Smith's Jersey Girl was little more than a remake of it. While there are certainly some similar plot points, on the whole though I would say that the two are entirely different. I'm glad to say though that Jack and Sarah balances between the two very steadily, only stumbling from time to time.
The film focuses on Jack (Richard E Grant), a London lawyer who ...
Advantages: Entertaining for the kids, not too frightening and good story lines Disadvantages: The loud background music is sometimes too loud
For anyone who remembers that show called Doctor Who then you may know that there have been a couple of ?spin offs? shows, one called Torchwood , (an anagram of Doctor who, which is quite fitting) and another called The Sarah Jane Adventures, (Sarah Jane being the third and fourth Doctors companion from the 70?s, the third being Jon Pertwee, and fourth being Tom Baker).
In brief, Doctor Who is a show for the general population of all ages, whilst Torchwood is set more on the adult theme, (nothing pornographic just a little more bloody), and The Sarah Jane Adventures was made more for the younger viewers, being first shown on the BBC channel.
Anyway, it is the last of the three which I am going to talk about today, the Sarah Jane Adventures spin off from Doctor Who series, showing the life of one of the Doctors most loyal ...
