Album Notes: Charming Hostess: Marika Hughes (vocals, cello); Jewlia Eisenberg (vocals, harmonium); Cynthia Taylor (vocals).
Album Reviews: The Wire (p.66) - \"There's no doubting the fine all female vocal performances in Jewlia Eisneberg's cunning, soulful arrangements, or the top notch instrumental contributions from the likes of Carla Kihlstedt and Tim Barsky.\"
Advantages: musically and lyrically Outstanding Disadvantages: pretty depressing
...Eels were formed in 1995 by Mark Oliver Everett, the man generally known as E. Their first album, Beautiful Freak met to critical and popular acclaim due to its charming blend of tongue in cheek angst and eccentric musicality. His follow up to this happy go lucky, Beck like US indie album, was Electro Shock Blues. A 16 track exploration of emotion and reaction to the death of his mother from cancer and his sister from suicide. The album begins with the track "Elizabeth on the Bathroom Floor", a song about his siter's suicide, told from her perspective.
This is not a particularly cheerful album, it is however wonderfully catchy. There is something extra special in E's ability to take songs such as Hospital Food and Cancer For the Cure, and give them some of the best hooks and chants in music today.
Rather than bogging down the music...

2. Take A Look - Liz Phair
3. Sand in My Shoes - Dido
4. Fallen (Dan The Automator Remix) - Sarah McLachlan
5. I Can't Make Me (Chris Lord Algo Remix) - Butterfly Boucher
6. San Francisco - Vanessa Carlton
7. Pieces Of Me (David Garcia And High Spies Remix) - Ashlee Simpson
8. Unbroken - Missy Higgins
9. Free (Swiss American Federation Club Mix) - Sarah Brightman
10. I Close My Eyes - Shivaree
11. Home - Zero 7
One of my favourites has to be San Francisco by Vanessa Carlton, after all the series...

Advantages: Very original and very entertaining Disadvantages: only 10 tracks, not 100
...Its black, its 12 inches and its quite amazing!!!!!!
I am actually refering to the album produced by 'Adam and the Ants' in 1981 entitled 'PRINCE CHARMING' , the third album made by Adam and the Ants.
So what did I get for my money way back in the early 80's?
An amazing piece of vinyl containing only 10 tracks of what I consider to be Adam and the Ants second best album (my first favourite being Kings of the wild frontier)
This album is very much Adam Ant at his most theatrical, all the make up and extravagant videos to accompany this music was pretty much unseen in the world of pop music at this time.
In fact the album cover is just a picture of Adam (real name 'Stuart Goddard') posing in a very frilly jacket with huge cuffs and wearing loads of make up and his hair tied up with ribbons!!!!
The inner cover (this album...
